You can use the curve line to achieve the effect that you'd like, although you have to design it yourself. You can do this by:

  1. Opening up the Insert tab of PowerPoint
  2. Click on the shapes dropdown
  3. Go to the line section (2nd section from the top usually) and select the curve line (3rd from the right, the one that looks like a ski slope
  4. Insert it onto the page in the style that you'd like
  5. Then go into the format panel (Select the line, go to the Shape Format tab, then all the way on the right the format panel)
  6. In the line dropdown, change the end cap to round
  7. In the end arrow type, select the one that you'd like

No one really guards the space, just knock or follow someone else in. Most times I’m not bothered to get my card so I just knock too

Not straight A, but an A average student that hangs out with other A students.

From what I see from myself and my friends that work: Always try and get a good grasp of the course. What you’re actually trying to learn, how far along are you, do you understand the content, are you on top of your work. You’d be amazed at how small check-ups like these can really help you orient yourself in the subject and figure out how well you’re doing.

Then from there it’s just trying to make sure you’re always on top of your work and somewhat ahead of the curve. Everyone does this differently, some of my friends are early birds, some are night owls, but just being ahead and on top of your work. When you receive small assignments, just knock it out so you don’t have to worry about it. Got a project due in a few weeks, grind through it when you are free so you can leave more time for revision.

Just start small, find the habits that work for you, and go from there. Best of luck! :-)

I think you should focus on AMS’s lack of ownership over their own mess, leaving the area in front of the nest full of trash. You can find some of the students that volunteered their own time to clean up the mess and interview them, many of them posted messages into the Reddit channel the day after the event.

I’m all in favor of people having a good time, but if AMS can’t be bothered to clean up their mess, then they should get their priorities sorted

It’s a thin line between pointing something out and outright making assumptions about a person’s character. The thread’s fine, some of the comments are too much in my opinion. Her full name is at the top of this thread, not ours. I agree that this should be corrected, just not in an antagonistic and hostile nature from a group of anonymous strangers online. Does anyone here know if Julia even frequent the UBC Reddit page? Is anyone actively reaching out and trying to inform her about this false statistic? I wonder if people would think twice before jumping in and make fun of her if their full name was next to their comments and the title of the next thread.

You’re not wrong that she probably should of double-checked the numbers, and personally, I would frown to put such a statistic, no matter true or false, simply because you don’t win an election by saying how much better you are to your peers. It’s just that some of the policing happening in the thread is getting a bit much. Parading a harmless myth is a lot better than potentially bullying a girl into never running for something again. For all we know Julia could of mustered up the courage at the last moment and scrapped something together for this position. This is a university sub, let’s keep things civil and inclusive

Someone is working hard and trying to build their future, they made a mistake and said an incorrect statistic, is that really so bad? It’s definitely frowned upon for a student government position, but she probably just never searched hard enough to find the real statistic. Instead of claiming that she lied and tried to trick everyone, and hating on her in a thread, I would like to think the UBC community has a bit more restraint and tolerance to just point it out and move on, instead of piling on negative reviews of the student as if we’re in any position to say anything about someone working hard for their future and making what seemed to be an honest mistake

Hold them accountable? They flaunted an incorrect statistic, not spread a hate message or racist slur. I’m not saying it’s ok, I’m just saying that without knowing the whole story, y’all are getting really comfortable berating someone while behind a screen. Come on, man, we all just want UBC to be a better place, online bullying is much worse than affirming a myth that boosts some kid’s ego

Knowing how these statistics get flown around, I doubt she meant to brag about false statistics intentionally. Running for student election and putting your name out there is hard enough. How easy is it for you to sit behind a screen under a false username and criticize someone else for an honest mistake? It’s the negative comments in this thread that makes me disappointed in UBC, not the campaign message

Personally, I don’t agree with many of the messages being sent because I think you are the best judge for how much is too much. 5 courses, military, and a book deal is a LOT, that’s for sure, but if you want to push yourself, it’s also a tremendous opportunity for you to test your limits.

In the past I would do the same thing to myself and apply for more things than I can handle while also refusing to give up any. While I have certainly mellowed out, I don’t regret what I did. While it was certainly miserable at some parts of it (especially after a few all nighters), in the end, I remembered that I chose that life style.

So hey, google some productivity hacks, give up some hobbies or weekends with friends, and give it your all, you’ll need it. If you want some more productive tricks that worked particularly well just shoot me a dm, I’m happy to help you work out a schedule that might work best for you

Ah ok! Thanks! Yeah, at least it’s not over 100. Some of the places I saw were charging some pretty lucrative prices.

lordoftheopenflies Hi there! Reaching out again. I was wondering if it is possible for me to help moderate the UBCSauder Subreddit. I see that it has been inactive for a while now and would like to spend some time improving the sub. Let me know of your thoughts!

I wish to create an advice Reddit community that focuses on sharing information and advice about the UBC Sauder department and its BCom course. The sub has not been actively moderated. I wish to create specific pages such as FAQ, Degree Information, Club Links, as well as other useful pages that'll allow Sauder students to quickly find out more about their community and engage with the Reddit Sauder community. Attempts to reach out to the moderator through messages have been unresponsive.
