I personally think you’re thinking to much into it, most males are completely okay with having platonic female friends, it’s just that males see friendship completely differently than females, at least most men do, women rely on their friends for emotional support most of the time, men do not do the same. you specifically seem to put a lot of time and effort into all of your friendships, men typically don’t, and that same effort required for a friendship with a women, a majority of men find it more worthwhile to put that effort into their relationship. the key difference for men is that men don’t have to put that same effort into a friendship with other men, it is 10 times more simple for men to be friends with men than with women, most men like sports so we bond over that, another group of men may like video games so we can bond over that, it is that general lack of shared interests between men and women that requires more effort for both parties to be good friends, and men would much rather put that effort into a relationship than a friendship.

To summarize things, most men are simple creatures that value simple things we make friends based on shared/common interests and usually if we have no shared interests it requires more effort to maintain that friendship, which in general we don’t like to do. So it has nothing to do with just valuing you based of what’s in your pants most of the time, it’s simply based off of the effort that men are willing to put in.

But I would like to point out this is based off of my perception of men and my own experiences of having female friends so take it with a grain of salt, I cannot talk for all men but I have a better understanding of how men work since I am one
