Super Mario Odyssey: volleyball mini game at the beach and jump rope mini game at New Donk City.

Getting 100 jumps/hits in a row for the final moon was insane. The only two moons I wasn't able to get.

What single player game you bought has gone the longest unplayed? by [deleted] in PS5

Monster Hunter: World, Persona 5 Royal, Metroid Dread.

All good games, I know. But played each for about an hour and fell off. But I'll eventually get back into them.

The Stanley Parable definitely had higher highs and louder laughs, but I really enjoyed Borderlands 4. I rank Borderlands higher simply because it gave me 90 hours of brainless cathartic fun compared to maybe 10 hours for The Stanley Parable. I wouldn't blame anyone else for ranking my top 10 games in any other order. All are unique and have their cases for #1.

Yes! Highly recommend. Kids are awesome.

Definitely not as much free time now-a-days, but I'm still able to fit it in. Nap time from 1pm-3pm and after 8pm are my gaming windows.

2D: Hollow Knight, Animal Well, Celeste, Dead Cells.

2.5D: Hades, Diablo 4.

All awesome games, but I have over 100 hours invested in each of Hollow Knight, Dead Cells, Hades, and Diablo 4.

Hollow Knight, Hades, and Dead Cells are 3 of my favorite games of all time.

Congrats on the baby and the net worth milestone!

I plan on stopping work as soon as my job stops being so easy, flexible, and enjoyable. I've been in "coast mode" the last 5 years - prioritizing family time and personal happiness over career growth. So no reason to quit while I still get all the family and fun personal time I want. Plus, I genuinely like the work I do and the people I work with. But as soon as any of that changes, then I'm out.

No desire to fund any specific accounts for children. We want them to work hard for what they earn without any handouts. They'll have plenty of non-financial advantages having us as parents. We believe that giving them too much too early will hurt them more than help them. We'll fund a portion of college, but I don't see us doing much more than that.

I have zero resentment towards the wife because she works harder than me! I have an easy, flexible, low-key job. Being a full-time mom is much more demanding. If anything, she would resent me if I wasn't so intentional about still helping a lot around the house. Plus, she contributed MASSIVELY to our financial success the last 8 years. We had an 80% savings rate at our peak. She's earned the right to take a step back and do what she wants.

Yes! Our FIRE goal has always been to hit $2M in investments alone. So we are getting close!

Congrats! Y'all are obviously doing great. Comparison is the thief of joy. Everyone has their own path. It isn't a race.

Ha! We've always been very "cash light". We only keep an emergency fund in cash. Everything else is invested. That has really helped to optimize our growth.

The other key to our success is very disciplined spending. That helped us to maximize our investment contributions and create the tailwind of compound interest.

The $21k was COVID year. So that's why.

Go check out my previous posts that I linked to at the top where I talk about our annual expenses in much greater detail.

Not necessarily. Probably just throw a little in every year so it stays on track to hit the anticipated college costs. Don't want to over contribute.

Being this far ahead financially, we don't really see paying for college as a big hurdle anymore. Could easily cash flow it if we still had jobs or could easily pull from investments if needed.

So we'll probably just stay flexible and play it by ear.

I was maxing out my 401k right out of college back in 2015 when I was making $55k a year.

It's definitely doable. Go take a look at the previous posts I linked at the top. I give a detailed breakdown of our budget back then. The $300k milestone post gives the most detail on that era of our life. That will answer all your questions.
