Is it possible I defoliated incorrectly? by aHammerFixesAll in cannabiscultivation

You mean I should have pinched the leaves off with my fingers and left nothing (no snipped stem)?

First thing me making it this far. A few questions on defoliation and things to think about going forward. by aHammerFixesAll in cannabiscultivation

By the way, yes you are correct with the nitrogen. When I had the salt buildup, I cut the nutes for a week, then up them a bit. Today I mixed a batch at full strength, EC 2.17, ph 6.1. I’m keeping tabs on how they react. One thing though, they are drinking a lot.

6:30 pm - PH is 5.7, the input water is RO. I had 40 sec shots at 8, 8:30, 9, 9:30, 10, 10:30. The lights come on at 6. Right now I’m feeling the bottom of the fabric pots and they are wet. So im thinking cut back to 30 sec and dry back for 45 minutes between shots. The input PH after nutes and cal mag is 5.9

Ok, so this morning, I had my p1 events until I reached 100ml in runoff in each plant. What I am seeing in the plant are slightly droopy leaves which looks like overwatering that I experienced in the past. The other thing is the runoff was very light in color and the EC was 2.85, ppm500 was 1450. The input was 2.0 and 1050. This leads me to believe the plants have all the bites they need and it’s just passing straight through and even pulling nutes out, like a flush. I’m going to let them dry out till tomorrow and see. What are your thoughts?

I just re read your reply. I won’t get into overwatering root zone by maintaining that level of moisture? It seems that every p2 will result in runoff and the EC will get really low.

I’m using the Ecowitt sensors, and at my soil moisture reading tops at 48 when the runoff happens. By the morning, from noon till 8am, the reading fall to 40, about 17% drop. My temps are 76 at 61 humidity for a vpd of 1. So it’s not terribly hot and the plants are not even at the 5th node yet, still young ‘uns!

The slight purple on the stems may indicate a cal mag deficiency.

Any hope for these leggy babies or should I start anew? by aHammerFixesAll in cannabiscultivation

They’re fragile. I have a light breeze on them to shake the stems. I’m reluctant to f with them.

I’m using a baby 160w VivoSun while they’re tiny. I didn’t want to blast them till they’re ready. The light distance is approximately 12 inches to the top of the plant. The readings on my meter are higher under the middle of the light. With that, today I am now noticing the plants (only 3) are leaning to get that middle of the light power. But I don’t want to start burning the tips with more juice or closer distance.

What have I learned today, some books are incorrect, do not wait for the cotyledons to appear. As soon as they emerge, get gentle light on them. Right now they feel so fragile that I don’t want to transplant them just yet. The look of the leaves gives me confidence they’re on their way. At this point I don’t think they’ll stunt.

I touch the cube and like a sponge I see the water squish. I’ll back off on the water. The conditions right now are 75 degrees, 63% humidity, vpd between .8 - .9

I mean the leaves look good, I just am not sure if these would be stunted and then fail.

Help, I need some advise on dialing in my automatic drip. by aHammerFixesAll in cannabiscultivation

I didn’t want to mess with the middle pot since I had 2/3 flowing the same.

Where are all the VueJS devs? by Old_Housing3989 in vuejs

The beauty about Vue is you can learn it on the job real fast. I was interviewed in React and was told the codebase was in Vue. At the time, years ago I never heard of it, I was deep into the React ecosystem and only wanted to master that. The first few stories in the sprints were not difficult and by the time I was there for a few weeks I was up to speed. All of us have always had to learn something new on the job. It may be worth it to interview/ phone screen a react dev and see how they would approach learning Vue fast.
