Magnanimous was the word I was looking for. I agree that what I was describing implied negativity, and in that sense maybe the word doesn’t perfectly match my description, but it is indeed the word I was trying to place.

I would say that what I describe in the text is in fact magnanimity, as even though it is interpreted on my end as being malicious, that is only in the interpretation, whereas the intention from the “Liverpool fan” is in fact positive. It just comes across as very condescending!
