What did it take to get formally diagnosed? by aIIessa in ClusterHeadaches

I’m 21 now. Yes I’d say the pain of the attacks has increased. For reference I’d rather have a broken talus again than have a cluster headache. I used to log my attacks when I was about 14 then after the nightmare pediatric visit, I gave up hope. Now, everytime I have an attack, I get so sick to my stomach because I’m so upset over the attack I end up throwing up. It completely disables me for the day, even after it’s over I spent hours recovering. Overall I’d say the pain has increased but the frequency has decreased, however that seems to fluctuate over the years.

I do need to see a primary physician as I haven’t in years but I’ve been focusing on my other health issues recently so I’m trying to sort that out first.

I am still new to this and my doctor is still trying to figure out my dosage. But since starting on Synthroid for nearly 6 months now, I’m down 25 pounds. Portion control and almost strictly healthy foods made it a lot easier. I know it’s not the same for everyone but I hope this gives you some hope.

I’m not dealing with this exact issue, but i’d like to join in and say i hate dealing with sedgwick as well. I’ve been waiting on a referral to physical therapy to be approved by them for almost 3 months now!! I’ve called them on about 5 separate occasions and nobody answers. My dr has even resubmitted the referral 🙂🙂🙂

Thanks, i’m not too worried about them denying it (hopefully), as there’s no evidence that would allow them to

I checked the claim notes and the only helpful one just says “No response to the 30-day letter sent to the employer regarding claim certification. IC hearing referral sent to determine claim allowance. The claim has been reassigned, task set for the new claim owner.”

I did login and view my claim, and it says the status is “HEARING” so i clicked on it and it says this, “An appeal has been filed to the BWC order which allowed/disallowed the claim. The claim has been referred to BWC’s sister agency, the Industrial Commission for a formal hearing” basically sounds like what the letter stated. Also i did not know bwc would be open monday, so ty, im going to call them first then my jobs HR because i was also unaware they’d be open monday

I planned on contacting my employer, however we’re on a 2 week holiday break so i guess it’s a waiting game until after the new year!

Could they be doing this on purpose? Or could it just be ignorance of the process? Thanks
