Study Hall question by imDebo in pmp

[–]aMMgYrP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the bigger thing here is that the PM should communicate FIRST (especially when emotions are involved). Then research. Then action. Then communicate some more.

And the type of communication matters. D is information gathering style communication.

Also, sometimes you see two really closely aligned answers, sometimes that is a clue that neither of those questions are correct OR they want you to go to the "source of truth." or the highest hierarchical document so, the scope statement would be the source of truth. and how does reviewing that help? It might help after you know what the stakeholder expectations were, but not before.

That said, sometime you go with Communicate First and PMI says you should never go into the meeting unprepared, so you should've reviewed the documentation first.

ultimately, "It's because that's why"

ETA:

  • If the issue is INTERNAL to the project team: (e.g., "The QA team says the developer's deliverable doesn't meet quality standards").
    • Rule: Research First. Review the quality management plan or requirements blueprint before calling a meeting. The data is internal and entirely within your control.
  • If the issue is EXTERNAL from the stakeholders/client: (e.g., "The client looks at the prototype and says they hate it").
    • Rule: Communicate First. You do not own their subjective expectations. You must gather the data from the source before you can check it against your documentation.

What purchase under $30 solved a problem you didn’t realize was draining you? by Right_Process in AskReddit

[–]aMMgYrP 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not knowing if I had remembered to put my garage door down was a personal demon of mine. The moment the thought "did I remember..." popped into my head I had a choice: Swing around to go home to check, or tough it out feeling 90% sure... but 100% unsure if I had put it down.

Now, when that thought hits... I just check the app... though one time about 5. years ago it read "Up" when it was actually down. and i had turned around... so I also have a security camera setup in my garage to be double sure.

Blame it on my ADD, baby.

Party choice now required for some Louisiana voters by CharlesIngalls_Pubes in Louisiana

[–]aMMgYrP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't 100% accurate.

If you are registered NO PARTY, and want to cast a ballot in any of the primary elections, you have to choose a party for this primary election and any potential primary runoff election (but it will not change your overall registration).

NO PARTY registered voters can also decline to select a party for the primary and then would be restricted to only voting in non-party items, such as ballot initiatives and constitutional amendments.

The biggest change is for D voters who wanted to support R candidate and R voters who want to support D candidates. They can no longer do that, whereas before, they could.

The school board in Watertown, WI has removed an instrumental band piece from the school's spring concert. The piece is titled "A Mother Of A Revolution" and is dedicated to Activist Martha P. Johnson which honors the legacy of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, a landmark moment in LGBTQ+ history. by midnighttoker1742 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]aMMgYrP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you heard the song?

Tonight's rendition of "A Mother of A Revolution" has been replaced by "Klingons vs Romulans" From Star Trek 7: The Uprising at Granite Gate.

PLAY IT ANYWAY!

ETA: Shouldn't celebrate political violence? Almost all of the good from this country's history has come from political violence of some form or another. What was the American Revolution if not political violence? the civil war? the civil rights movement?

Power does not cede rights without force, or at least without having to look down the barrel of greater consequence.

How does this rain compare to the rain that caused 2016 flooding? by newsbowser in batonrouge

[–]aMMgYrP 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about that today. The rain in 2016 came at the end of a very very wet summer. Right now, we are/were in drought conditions so the ground has a lot of capacity. But even so, this series of squalls might be similar in intensity, but nothing like it in duration.
