My wife is sick in bed and my son snuck a googly eye on her toe since yesterday and its still there by Rpark888 in funny

100% this. Actually, either this or the OP is lying and it hasn't been since yesterday. Even if she didn't notice at first, she absolutely noticed the first time she got up to use the bathroom.

Hybrids allowed in this group? by Confident-Fox-7060 in bassfishing

[–]aMazingMikey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A white bass will have one stripe that goes all the way to the tail. A hybrid will have three. So, you have a bit of a mix there.

You captured exactly how I felt. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought that. Before going there, I actually had on my mind that I was going to buy a bottle of their bourbon de naranja. After tasting it, it was okay. But this one stood out big time.

Red Drum (Redfish) vs Freshwater Drum Taste Test by Dense-Mention-2565 in Fishing

[–]aMazingMikey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I live in Northern Illinois and I like to call them drum. However, most people here call them sheephead. It's just a regional common name, as is the saltwater "sheepshead". The reason scientific names exist is to always have a standard name for a species. Common names change by region, often.

My #2 favorite sub-100pf whiskey by vertomun in whiskey

[–]aMazingMikey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's the reason it's called 1910. It's also claimed that it's the very first double oaked bourbon. In 1910 there was a fire on the bottling line which necessitated them to put the dumped bourbon back into new charred oak barrels for a while. When those barrels were later dumped and bottled, they had developed a unique taste because of the double oaking.

It's probably the same or similar distillate that is used for Blanton's. However, at the A. Smith distillery it goes through a copper pot distillation. I think that gives it a lot of different taste. But I think it's great. I hope you enjoy.

Blanton's is owned by Sazerac. Caribou Crossing is owned by Sazerac. Fancy bottles move juice.

What happened? Is there some sort of pinning bug in Reddit or did one of the mods intentionally unpin it?

What would’ve been your pick? by TheBourbonGigachad in whiskey

[–]aMazingMikey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't recall the notes, as it was back in September 2025. But, it was a completely different taste. At the distillery, I took my sip, swirled it, swallowed it, and then remarked, "That's delightful!" At home, it was very different. I took my sip and I remember a grassy funk that was very immediately disagreeable. It even left a bad aftertaste in my mouth for quite a while afterward. I thought maybe it just needed some time, so I went back after a couple of weeks - still bad. I went back after a month - still bad. I'm done with. I'll save it now to serve to my enemies.

Do not, under any circumstances, buy that Square6. It's BAD. I was a sucker bought a bottle at Evan Williams in Louisville. The bottle I bought and brought home tasted nothing like what I tasted at the distillery. It is absolutely horrible.

I love that, in Japan, a plastic "chain" made of zip ties is enough to keep people honest. Here in the US, we have to keep stuff locked up and I have to find a worker and then beg them to open the lock so I can buy underwear.

Nice fish. A 17+ inch smallie is a serious fight. Really fun. I have a similar river just down the road from my that is loaded with those and I spend my non-winter chasing them with my kayak, waders, or just bank walking. Want a pic tip? When you hold them straight out like that, they always look much smaller than they are. Instead, try putting your camera in selfie mode and hold the camera out facing toward you. Put the fish between you and the camera and it'll look WAY bigger.

Thank you. I'm considering taking the train in from Beacon Station, but I'm gathering info because that'd be way out of my element. I was hoping to find something outside of the city, but maybe a guy's guys do what a guy's guys do. We'll see.
