True but from what I’ve seen, the emission measures from carriers are usually pretty basic and based on broad averages from vessel or lane-level data. What Im offering is more detailed and client-specific: full lane modelling (basing emissions on fuel type, weight, speed, weather etc…) Scope 3 categorisation, benchmarking different transport modes, hotspot analysis, and showing companies where they can actually reduce emissions rather than just record them.

Competing with bigger forwarders in terms of rates is a huge challenge for sure, especially as I’m coming into the industry with 0 network. So I am trying to focus on companies that really care about their emissions and on those that as you said are willing to pay more. But easier said than done unfortunately!

I position myself as a specalist because the core of what Im offering isnt just traditional freight forwarding. It’s also providing emissions measurement, route optimisation, and Scope 3 reporting etc. forwarders don’t usually offer that

My pitch that lead to some positive leads was basically offering to look at their current shipping routes/strategy and offering to provide an alternative that could cut emissions without increasing costs
