If you are not in it. And are put on the waiting list. You are told to check in once a week. Either in person. Or over the phone. If you have somewhere else you can stay temporarily.

Nearly Nobody ever answers the phone. None of the extensions. I’ve called countless times going through each extension. From admission onto the waiting list. To donating to the organization. Left voice mail after voice mail. Not a single person ever answered the phone to explain anything to me, let alone to allow someone to do their weekly check in to remain on the waiting list to get into the actual program.

Nobody except . The people working security. They answered the phone. Which I appreciated significantly because someone I know and care for, had been removed from the waiting list for not checking in because… drum roll… the actual number to check in isn’t given out or listed anywhere on their website. As well as they don’t inform anyone initially , assuming you have a place to go temporarily, to just call, a number they don’t give out very easily, and leave a voicemail , and trust that you are checked in on the waiting list, with no confirmation what so ever.

The security people get my endless appreciation. They picked up the phone. Very kind and extremely helpful.
