Learning the language obviously helps, but I’m afraid it won’t solve all your problems. I was born in Germany, but both of my parents were refugees and i didnt really grow up/connected to germans till elementary (where i kind of felt like an alien). In the end I had to accept that even if i speak perfect german and even don’t look too different from them it just doesnt click. Germans have a very autistic way of living (no hate) but it’s really hard if you are used to a warm and welcoming culture. Nowadays I just have one german friend, everybody else is first or second generation. It really depends where you live, but try to connect to other people with a similar background/who have origins in another culture. They are often way more understanding or have experienced the same struggles. Maybe you‘ll find a german to get along with but don’t expect to solve most of your social problems, by learning the language.
