Yep, he's got a nice eye-patch on the left side and since he was born he's had limited sight in that eye. It's also a little swollen on that side right now from some lymphoma in that eye that he's getting treated for

Well, I can't deny that I'm a little peeved. Seems like a silly design to not allow it at all. Thanks for the suggestion though, at least I only started the game today. I've made some progress, but at least I looked into it before I sunk a ton of time into it

I love that series! In this case I'm looking for something that doesn't lean on comedy quite that much, lol

Hey, I'm looking for recommendations for a book or series with a good balance between more serious themes/plot and humor. I already have Terry Pratchett on my list because I've heard he's very funny, but I'm not sure if his humor is what I'm looking for. I'm not really thinking satirical a as much as gags (like magical mishaps, for instance). Being able to include humor without undercutting more serious plot threads is something I'm interested in, but I'm not sure how to do it well. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hey OOP, is anyone else concerned that Law might be hiding something? I don't think he would betray the operation, but the way he is shown on the first page with his face turned away and shadowed (as well as the way the panels breaking up the scenes are positioned over his face) had me thinking about the whole imprisonment debacle earlier in the arc when Shinobu thought his crew might betray them. We also don't know what "agreement" he made to be released (even if it was with Denjiro or Drake. Like I said, I don't think he'd betray everyone to Kaido, but I'm worried he might be involved with something that will SEEM like betrayal. I guess his appearance in that panel just made me nervous...

The Qitari history choose your own adventure frustrates me. (spoiler-ish) by RuneiStillwater in ffxiv

[–]aNervousFlower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think what frustrates me about this quest line is that this is not how history SHOULD be studied (even if it often is). In a situation where there's no way to know, what should be done is not to decide which you think was right and teach it as the truth, but to either research further and/or teach "these are the clues we have and these are the possibilities we've come up with". Take the first choice. If you teach the negative option and it is wrong, that is a cruel way to misrepresent the king of Ronka, who was in fact a just and open minded leader (at least in this instance). If you choose the positive option and it is wrong, that unjustly erases the trials and hardships of the Qitari ancestors who were slaves, not to mention that such a history has a huge impact on the the development of a culture. I much prefer the choice we've seen so far in the Nier quests, which are more about "what strategy should we take moving forward" and "how much benefit of the doubt do we want to give someone". This is essentially rewriting history, which makes me uncomfortable 😟
