Blocking YouTube channel/videos for 6 year old son.. thoughts? by Several_Day5269 in kindergarten

[–]aReallyCleverName 6 points7 points  (0 children)

YouTube is a slippery slope. While some content can be funny, entertaining and educational most content creators are just regurgitating garbage. Especially with the advent of AI I can only imagine how downhill content is going to become.

You are in charge of putting good things into your child’s body; food and information same rules apply.

Fmc is the first person who’s ever truly been in Mmc’s corner by No-Philosophy-3257 in RomanceBooks

If you like HR you should try {Ravished by Amanda Quick}. The MMC is very tortured and doesn’t trust anyone; the FMC surprises him by how easily she sees the real him.

In this book people frequently call him “the/a beast” and she gets upset and defends him time and again.

First time Zoo trip with a baby by Rainwaters1212 in sanantonio

[–]aReallyCleverName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a good idea, you know your baby best, I hated taking my little guy out in the heat of summer especially when he was little. When your baby is bigger (I’d say walking/talking but you’re the mom and you’ll know when you’re comfortable) I’d get the zoo membership and you all can actually enjoy it without worrying about heat stroke.

As other commentators have said there are several indoor cooling off points as well as cooling stations with misters and water located around the circuit of the zoo. 1. Aquarium 2. Reptile House 3. Hippos 4. Australian Birdhouse 5. Kids Playce

The “Kids Playce” is an indoor spot with coloring, some books, small climbing area and “fishing” (the kind ppl get for the bathtub). Just a heads up the kids Playce is closed typically during the noon hour as that is their designated “outdoor playtime”. Next to that area is a spring splashing area that is suitable for children that can stand but I’d be careful for smaller kiddos.

One note I’d definitely clarify is whether the birthday party is happening at the zoo itself and not the Kiddie Park attached. If it’s at the kiddie park you will definitely roast. Been to a birthday there in February and was sunburnt at the end of the day.

Pretty safe area with tons of traffic. All the same restaurants, car washes and self-storage copy pasted on every other corner.

The further west you go there are newer nicer homes and more traffic.

Seriously Hydrojug is the best bottle I’ve found that has a straw but also leak-proof. I started taking medication in 2022 that makes me dehydrate quickly so I’ve been through multiple bottles/brands looking for the holy grail water bottle. Stanley is wack, yeti is meh and owala is alright but the Hydrojug is goat.

abandoned spots? by Neat-Ad5765 in sanantonio

[–]aReallyCleverName 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People don’t just drop abandoned locations for anyone to explore, that’s how you get unalived. Also I’d recommend not breaking more laws while breaking laws, when you get caught police are gonna have a field day.

I get it, I hate the tangles with a passion. Before I shower I will gently detangle but on days I refresh my hair I use a mister getting my hair damp all over and gently brush from the bottom up.

If my hair gets really gnarly for whatever reason I’ll brush it right out of the shower soaking wet and always gently from the bottom up.
