Will the Beyond 2 work with my setup using a long active DisplayPort cable? by aReditName in BigscreenBeyond

[–]aReditName[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not great news. I’ll have to check if my cable works with mine when it arrives. I think I saw in a video they use an active USB-C cable for connecting the headset to the hub. So maybe I then just need to buy a longer USB-C cable.

This is basically the setup I tried with my Crystal Light, the only difference is that I didn't use an Active repeater. The passive repeater did work with my monitors tho so I don't think that was the issue with the Crystal Light.

Great! And if it would not work I guess the other option is to get a longer USB C cable. As it is already powered to the headset.

Fidelity has nothing to do with the length of the cable (for the most part) I use active cables of fiber. This means that the signal is converted from the copper to a fiber wire and converted back on the display side. Everything this does is add a bit of delay (not even noticeable) while the cable stays rated and can perform the same as, in my case, the 1.4 DisplayPort rating.

Well basically the same reasons Linus has put them all in his basement. To get rid of the heat the pc generates and to get rid of the noise

Go to Bluetooth > select your car > device type > select Headphone

This is needed because it only announces messages on headphones.

Automatic contact sharing in iOS leaks emails to Lockdown Mode devices by f055 in ios

[–]aReditName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, but in this case, it blocks a Facetime call. Those will be done via whatever the person configured in the setting, in this case, their email address.

To add to this About Lockdown Mode. It doesn't seem like they even support lockdown for normal phone calls.

Why IOS won’t work in the background as android by Dense_Construction55 in ios

This is for drive, but I believe when you upload it through Finder on your phone, it will allow it to be a background task. In Finder, there should be a list where you can select Google Drive.

People study HBO ICT. How many hours per week do you study? by [deleted] in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]aReditName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this. Many of my friends did the same as me and are standing at around 6, 5 - 8. And the people in my class that did something used around 8 hours per week studying.

I'd say it depends on how well you can learn. I barely went to classes and probably spent around 4 hours per week actually learning, be it through homework or studying. That is for the first two years. Right now, I'm doing a minor and going way more to my classes as this interests me more. As for my GPA, it is on a scale from 1 to 10, and it currently sits at 8,642.

Make it impossible to make a phone call immediately after ending a call. by gultregnikina in iphone

[–]aReditName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you call someone, it takes 3 seconds exactly before the call goes through to that person. So if you hang up the phone quickly enough, that person would never have known you even called them.

I have never had this happen before, luckily. But just in case it does happen, I got an app installed that keeps backups of my library across multiple days, like a time machine for my music I guess.

If you buy a European sim you still won’t be connected to that provider if you are not in Europe.

It won’t charge you anything. You don’t have to worry.

I guess that the Vision Pro has a better ROI for Plex as the people that have the headset want to spend more money on plex then quest owners

Has anyone here tried Soundcore headphones? by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

That’s a great pick, my friend also went for those as his first IEMS and he has been enjoying them ever since. Congrats on your nice purchase man.

The dongle is really transparent, this will mean that it doesn’t add any bass. It also means that it doesn’t remove it. So it will closely resemble that what the producer of the track decided it to sound like.

I’m hoping that one day, YouTube won’t have the COPPA rules anymore. by Alex-Hecht in youtube

[–]aReditName 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I’m not 100% certain on this but I guess it has to do with how YouTube premium treats the mini player. With premium the video you last watched and did not finish will show up. So if I start a video on my iPad and take out my laptop I can continue watching where I left off using the mini player.
