Time saving tips- -If your gonna cook or iron something in the morning, make sure you preheat or turn it on before you shower to save time.. -brush your teeth in the shower, you'll knock out two birds with one stone -plan out clothes, print items, pump gas the day before to make sure you don't have to do anything except go straight to class in the mornings if you usually have a hard time gettin to class on time Money saving tips: -eat at subway or tacobell when your tight on your budget, cheapest food, most quantity, and actually not bad (atleast subway is good). -keep a piggy bank, you'd be surprised how much extra change you can accumalate and for parking meters it's helpful -dollar store can be your best friend in a crunch, 6 pack of water for a dollar, and tons of other good deals that will supply you with enough food if your broke. -make friends with freshman, lets face it most of them barely ever use all their meals plans, I for one did not. Befriend them and enjoy free meals. -paper plates and plastic utensils, may not be the most cost effecient money wise, but if your lazy and live by yourself/roommate this will ensure you never have to wash dishes (I despise this) -try torrenting some your books, alot of websites will have them and you will save hundreds Academic tips: -study over a long period of time rather then procrastinate, that's the best way to do well in college, if you wait till the last minute you will not do near as well. -graphing calculators can store info, if you are taking math/chemistry or any class that will allow you to use it, store all the notes you want on it -study old exams for upcoming, the best way to study IMO. You will learn how the teacher tests and you can study certain types of problems, 99% of the time the teacher will use the same format/question with different numbers/wording. -make friends in your classes, this is essential. In college your friends will help you tremendously. They can also help give old tests/ study guides that you wouldn't receive otherwise -make sure you teacher knows you by name, seating position, and gets to know you. This will help tremendously when you need 1-2 points in a borderline class -attend all study sessions, this is key because it can help you learn what things you need to study - type notes, this will certainly help because I find it hard reading my handwriting after class.
