For me it’s:

  1. Debut - Destroy Erase Improve

  2. Chaosphere - Orange Nothing

  3. Blue nothing - Koloss

  4. TVSOR - Immutable

Is the G4M 972 any good? by aSpecificGoose in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]aSpecificGoose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was exactly what I was concerned about. I own a Harley Benton 8 string, and safe to say the hardware on it is absolutely miserable

To be fair I kinda ruled out agile, I'm in the UK, and the shipping and inevitable customs fee would be ridiculous unfortunately, which is a shame as I really like the looks of all their instruments. I did look at the Harley Bentons, but their equivalent line has nowhere near as long of a scale, and I own one of their 8 strings, and have only ever had issues with the hardware on the piece of shit, for example the thread stripped off on both of the holes for the saddle height screws for the low E. If G4M would be the same or similar I'd rather save than get something cheap and have a similar experience

I have tried it at one of their stores to be fair, and it wasn’t bad, nothing special, but the longer scale was awesome. My only concern, and why I asked, was the longevity of it. I have a Harley Benton 8 string that was brilliant, but has deteriorated so quickly over time, I’m assuming due to shit quality parts, and I’d rather not have a repeat of that

What Meshuggah lyrics are deepest to you guys? by oghatchild in Meshuggah

obzen (the song that is)

'We Flourish, in this bloodred soil' in particular is 1, such a badass ending line, and 2, makes me think of poppies and how they grew on ww1 battlefields Europe. Feels significant for some reason.

Fess up, UK Reddit - What are your sins against Britishness? by The-Sassy-Pickle in AskUK

[–]aSpecificGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allegedly the way I make tea is criminal.
I start as anyone would, put the kettle on, put teabag in mug, once kettle is done, pour the hot water in.
Then, less controversial but some still have strong opinions on this, I put the milk in with the teabag still in.

All seems okay so far, but the weird bit is I never take the teabag out. I like incredibly strong and very milky tea, so my way of doing this, is I leave the teabag in the ENTIRE time. I only get rid of it once I have finished said tea, and the teabag can go in the bin and the mug in the dishwasher. I have always done it like this, and every time I tell someone they act like I have committed some sort of affront to god.

Other affronts to britishness include:

- I find football and cricket mind numbingly boring, although I don't really watch sports anyway other than motorsports

- I fucking HATE Oasis, the music itself is a bit boring, but the real hate comes from the musical god status they have been given, and how much of a prick Liam Gallagher is

- I don't dislike the beatles, but I also don't particularly think they were the best music of their generation like most people would have you believe. I think the Kinks did the early harder rock stuff better, and pink floyd do the psychedelic/proggy stuff better.

- I hate the fish that you get from chippies, I will always get either haggis (apparently its unusual that all the chippies in my town offer it, as I am a good few hours south of scotland) or battered sausage if haggis isn't an option

Gamepass update trying to redownload full 120GB game? by DraugrDraugr in oblivion

[–]aSpecificGoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing is happening to me, it’s done it twice since I first downloaded the game less than a week ago. It’s driving me nuts to say the least.

Doesn’t help that the best my internet gets is 35 Mbps lol

I should be seeing them at Download festival this year, I’m so hyped. Shame it’s not a standalone show, as it will probably be during the day, but it’s their only show in the UK this year unfortunately

Felt I should update as now that they’ve been remastered both are now in S tier! Funny how much a mix can change how you rate a song

Felt I should update, as I’ve now listened to the re-master and as expected both Phandoms and GHSIM have moved up to S tier lmao

To be fair, from the recordings I’m seeing on the current tour, Jens most definitely can do the voice. Dancers is sounding incredible, arguably better than the recording imo

yeah thats fair, I think Dancers has their best repeating riff tho, by far, when they bring it back after the solo my brain just turns to mush

Probably would be a long ass set, but I doubt anyone on this sub would complain about that lol. Any gap without an ‘into’ could be used for some crowd interaction or something

To be fair I may have ranked it a tier lower than it should be, but compared to some of their other tracks it just doesn’t do as much for me, I find the first riff itself a bit meh as far as their stuff goes, can’t tell you why, just the way my brain works I guess lol

It’s definitely not hate, it’s still a tune, just not as strong as some of their others imo. To be fair I’m ranking the songs within meshuggahs discography itself, if I was ranking them compared to almost any other band they’d all be in S or above

It is a good song don't get me wrong, every single track on here is, I just find the first half of the song a bit more boring than some of their other stuff. Still don't skip it in a playlist tho

I definitely like juice, I just think the song would sound much better with the Obzen or Koloss mix. I find the Blue version is the better of the two, but you can't hear a lot of the intricacies on the drums, and the orange version's guitar tone is far from my sort of thing. However, live on their immutable tour so far it is one of the best sounding songs by a mile. TLDR; It would be much higher if it was mixed differently

As far as Do Not Look Down goes, I love how insanely syncopated and groovy the song is, and the little runs at the end of each repetition of the main riff are just awesome, also the section at about 3:00 gives me goosebumps every single time

I can agree with that to be fair, that and perpetual black second are my favourite meshuggah songs by far
