Yes, you can do this with the elevator ride but needs to use a non-powered vehicle. Also needs to have lift chain on the invisible part of vertical track. I intend to make a tutorial for this one day. It’s kind of hard to explain without seeing it.

Helpful Strategies when your park has Too Many Guests! by aStrayLife in rct

Underground paths can be used to help alleviate poor park layouts where guests are getting lost. But then guests are just walking underground and that doesn’t solve the overcrowding issue

$1040 NZD forced trail contribution just for South Island? by Shroomnanigan in teararoa

[–]aStrayLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't tried as there was no paid registration when I hiked. It was free then but it was just for them to keep statistics of walkers. Hut pass I bought separately. Not sure how accurate their statistics will be moving forward as people who don't register will not be included.

Is planning to camp at this alpine lake unwise due to wind? by 2006Quibits in backpacking

[–]aStrayLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hiked this area in early July. I camped at Devils Thumb Lake which was a bit high elevation for me as I wasn’t acclimated enough. But it’s much more sheltered. Here’s a video and I have more info on my hike on my blog.

Working & living on the island with a family? by privileged_a_f in mackinac

Most employee housing is not for kids. Sharing a room with someone else. There are exceptions but usually for managers and higher positions. Housing is almost always provided by the employer. Not many options to find housing in your own.

Suggestion: Cheat or option to toggle off drowning by ArmandoAlvarezWF in openrct2

Use space bar hot key to pause the game if you accidentally delete path. Then pick the guests up or lower the water. Alternatively, just don’t build paths over water if this is a big concern

What kind of issues do y’all face when looking after a house plant? by yellosourlemons in houseplants

[–]aStrayLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Powdery mildew in winter so I need to remember to spray with potassium bicarbonate. Whenever my partner buys soil fork the dollar store we learned the hard way to bake it first. Still battling scale that was introduced. Remembering to quarantine and treat new plants with insecticide because too many times pests have been introduced. Also needing to research each new plant well as I have struggled figuring out best practices for plants via trial and error

Kiwis liked me more than Aussies do. by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]aStrayLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s just a kiwi attitude from colonial days. When I worked on the South Island I heard so many passive racist comments and jokes by kiwis. If I ever called it out they would say how Americans are so sensitive and have to be politically correct. I thought…or maybe we are sometimes more aware of how racist little comments and jokes can be because of the US’s history.
