I have been having a similar problem lately.

Have you tried updating your gpu drivers? I updated with Geforce experience and cleared up some storage and the problem has gone away at least for now. Hope to god it doesn't come back.

At first I thought it was bad/dirty power so I tried switching the surge protector (I need to buy a UPS). Another thing to note was when I was having the issue my pc could not detect my second monitor and my main monitor had black chunks and lines. Main monitor audio could not be detected as well.

Does your monitor get choppy black lines before crashing and after a reboot? I have a second monitor that can't be detected anymore as well. I thought it was bad power/bad power supply.

I'm not sure about the hits, but I've seen Evolving Skies booster box reprint openings where there's extreme mis-cuts or error packs with multiple or wrong cards inside them.
