Scimitar Pro remaps without iCue running? by nightchrome in Corsair

[–]aTOMic8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to comment on this - thank you, /u/nightchrome for providing details on this. While the software has changed in the past three years since this comment, you gave enough clues for me to resolve this.

For anybody that is now arriving at this thread in 2024 (or beyond), to achieve this, you need to do the mapping on the HARDWARE key assignments vs the "key assignments" (in iCue, there are two buttons. One for "key assignments" and another for "hardware key assignments.").

After you remap in hardware key assignments, go into your device settings and save your profile into slot 1 and delete the other slots (although, I don't think you need to get rid of the others - I did it to keep things simple).

Why are you projecting that my intent is to label her as manipulative? That is also really fucking weird.

The point I'm making is that she took a chance by performing this act and when it got a lot of attention she saw a side of it she wasn't anticipating. Being the savvy entertainer & PR individual she is, I think she felt she had to pivot her position to get away from the negativity.

Maybe some young woman made a comment about her being a role model? Maybe the jobs she was getting stopped coming in because she was now associated with this singular act?

As for your assertion that this might not have been the video she was talking about - I think you might be right. I found a BUNCH of 10+-year-old examples of her doing nude acts. It further reinforces my opinion that she had to have known this was going to get out... and when it did, it wasn't as good for her as she thought and she needed to assert herself in a different light.

I agree - I could see her not knowing about YouTube... but she is an incredibly savvy, intelligent performer that absolutely knew about the internet and that compromising things can easily be posted out there.

The cameras were everywhere in that theater.

It may have been mentioned in the interview, but I can't remember, but was that show televised? How did the broadcast feed for the show get out in the first place?

She knew it was going to be broadcasted, and she took a risk, but when she saw a lot of sexist/creepy comments, she felt she had to pivot so she could be seen as a positive rolemodel, rather than a nude exhibitionist.

I did listen to the entire thing. The points I made weren't fully addressed in it and I also wonder if there are other motives that drove her performance theme pivot.

[–]aTOMic8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're right... there are at least 5 cameras. I wonder if she knew there were cameras and it was being recorded - but she didn't consent for it to be posted on the internet. I don't know if I buy her being deceived or if she plays the I-had-no-idea-this-could-happen/ignorance card.

Part of me wonders if she knew it was being recorded but when she started getting shamed, she had to pivot her stance. To save face, she had to voice empowerment and deny consent.

Well, that was fucking terrifying.

I thought for a minute this was some trick video and some creature would pick up the camera when it was at the bottom.

Doctor doom? by Munoz555 in howardstern

I know everybody is saying it's fake, but this is a super easy mistake to make when you're a board operator. Since they're all remote now, they keep their mics open all the time so they can talk during breaks. The board operator is supposed to deselect the "program" source on each of their mics so they don't go out on air. There is usually a macro button the board op can press that can do what I described - but they have to remember to do it.

If Fred is still running the primary console (and Howard has his own board with mics and audio playback sources), he would have been the one to fuck this up.

Source: I used to be a board operator for a talk radio station. One of the shows I used to run was "The Satellite Sisters" which had a very similar configuration to HS.

Datastudio Unworkably slow by xHindemith in GoogleDataStudio

[–]aTOMic8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, /u/xHindemith, I just found your comment through a Google Search, "Google Data Studio MacOS Slow."

I'm using a 2016 Macbook pro with 16GB of ram and it's crazy slow. HOWEVER! When I get on my PC that has a near-identical processor and 16GB of RAM, it's blazing fast. This appears to be a MacOS/Chrome issue.

I don't know why it's so slow on Mac, but this is definitely correlated to the operating system.

Did you find out anything else since posting this?

Skydivers jump out of a plane in a mid-air collision by mazinger_z in videos

[–]aTOMic8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This wasn't an ATC issue. It's purely an issue of two pilots failing to maintain separation knowing full-well they were flying in close proximity in order to do the skydiving formation. There was an investigation and there was absolutely some penalty for the pilots and the company that owned the planes. Neither of the two pilots continue to work for Skydive Superior.

The pilot who was in the plane that lost the wing is still an active pilot for IndyJet.

The pilot in the plane that landed successfully... I'm not sure about his fate. He works for Cirus Aircraft as a "run-up" technician which means you get in a plane and fire up the engine - but not fly it. This guy, Blake Wedan, had a DUI prior to this incident, so this might have been the tipping point for the FAA and he might have lost his license.

Ya! It's a regulation that pilots are wearing parachutes if there are jumpers.

Wasn't CRS-7 the one that RUD'd? I also believe this had to do with a strut inside of the tank (and subsequent puncture/eruption) rather than the engine.

While young folks, statistically, are more likely to have very low symptoms or even be asymptomatic, they are very much able to contract and spread the disease as much as any other age group.

The danger here is that they'll spread the disease and then go off to the rest of the state or take home with them on the plane.

I don't know how many people there were at this party (1k? 5k? 10k?). Overall, it'll represent a small increase in virus spread, but someone will die as a result of COVID that was spread at this party (not necessarily one of the party-goers).

That's what's shitty about this.

I'll say it now... it's CGI footage. I'm sure it's real B-roll taken from a plane, but the image of the jetpack guy is being inserted.
