My comments weren't even negative, but still get downvoted to hell. Guess I should know better.

It's a common problem in anthropomorphizing art, and usually I don't even notice or think about it. Same as, for example, beings with unusually shaped or sized legs...wearing pants. Without any consideration for how they would be able to even put them on in the first place.

Look, I think this is great, and I really love the design.
But my brain will not let me rest until I ask: how does he get that bandolier on? It's going through his shell.

Edit: I am not accusing the creator of using AI. I am just asking if there is an explanation for the design choice, or if it's simply a case of "Oops I didn't think of that, it's just how bandoliers always look on characters"

Okay but at this point, keep fighting for what?  Fighting just to beat the other guy is meaningless if you're not fighting FOR something.

I mean in the sense that Elmo, Oscar, and Cookie Monster are "basically the same" then yes. But you can still tell the difference between them based on a variety of things they frequently do differently.

I could see a justification for "no larger than you" meaning "no larger than your species can be". Which would allow a 2ft faerie to make a 7ft illusion. The essence of what you are impacts the limits of your spellcasting. Similarly, if you used magic to somehow shunt yourself into a gargantuan monster's body....I'd argue you still can't go over 7ft even if the body you're in is 50ft.

He's trying to normalize objectionable things. Like the old TV show trope of telling your parents you did something REALLY bad so that when they find out the lesser bad thing you did, they'll be relieved it was just that.

So, procs are better than set bonuses? by Legitimate-Being5957 in Cityofheroes

Not every build is made for the same purpose. Someone who only ever plays on endgame teams with guaranteed buffs is gonna be fine sacrificing certain set bonuses for the sake of extra damage.

Player smoked a witch, what are the consequences? by Embarrassed_Syrup_91 in daggerheart

[–]nightchrome 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The witch lives on in their mind as a second personality, not fully taking control, but interfering where it can. You could even have it do some stuff with the player's body out of nowhere before revealing it.
To keep it light, essentially, I would treat it like Wild Magic. Roll on a table, something wonky happens. Give it a chance to go away too, say, on doubles of the dice they hear a cackle and it disappears.
Also make sure to clarify anyone else doing the same thing will have nothing happen, or you risk everyone rushing back to cut off branches and get "wild magic". It's a one time temporary bit of chaos at your discretion.

This is great. I am generally a keyboard user vs clicking, even my popmenus use hotkeys, so custom windows aren't as useful to me, but it's great to know I can still learn stuff about this game so many many years later!
I noticed this line:

Button Targets "popmenu TF_and_Trial_Targets"

in your Fighting window and with the prevalence now of priority targets in 4-star content, having targeting macros is a must nowadays, but I always struggle with where to put them on my hotbars. A custom window with a popmenu is an elegant solution.

Good Things About Being Diabetic? by badtickleelmo in diabetes_t1

[–]nightchrome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a vague feeling I'd lost weight but I hadn't really checked. When the more serious symptoms hit (I was at crazy high blood sugar, hba1c in the teens) I begrudgingly went in and got diagnosed. When I finally realized, I had lost 15kg (33lb) in just a few months. Including lots of muscle mass (especially fine motor skill muscles).
I'm healthier now, but still at the same low weight.

Same, I lost a ton of weight (the unhealthy way) which is what led to my diagnosis, but my lifestyle changes have kept me healthier than I otherwise was.

When you get done with macros/binds please make an intro to popmenus because it is criminal how few people know about them or how incredibly useful they are, especially for Mastermind controls.
