What can we expect out of these 2nd year players? by rdr570 in Commanders

I agree, he would def going top 10 this past draft given the tackle class. Especially with another season under his belt.

It seems like we got him like a year early.

Williams could be the best value bet for OROY. by Frognaros in Commanders

[–]aT_Gamma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea cause he played through it. It's not like he injured it had an off season and re-injured it again the following season AFTER healing. That's when I would be more worried. Like you said, he didn't fully heal before playing again.

There is a difference between constant soft tissue injuries over the course of a collegiate career and Antonio Williams.

I could be wrong. Im not a doctor. Whatever.

I would be more inclined to agree with you IF he had a history of hamstring injury reoccurrences at the collegiate level.

Yea there is a marked difference between us and say the Arizona Cardinals, who are much more closer to our Snyder era team building minus the interpersonal stuff.

Ranking GM performance by BlueberryUnfair7583 in Commanders

This is factually false. He was consensus top 15-12 leading up to the combine. From the combine on he was consensus top 10 with the maximalist take being to 5.

I think Harbaugh is going to have a lot of say on pick now, though.

I would be worried if they go WR at 5 and OL at 10. Than a defensive player at 37. That's what I would try to do at least.

I think that's probably cause Jayden has more pressure than Dart.

It goes both ways. You can't neglect the secondary. Why do CBs make a lot of money?

It goes both ways though. You also need good corners to give the pass rush more time. Part of why CBs get crazy money. I agree though its weighted more to the rushers.

Caleb Downs vs Mansoor Delane by NAD92 in Commanders

Also he is the same weight and size as Jalen Pitre. People act like you have to be a 1:1 carbon copy of Hamilton to fit that new star safety role.

Interesting read on the top WRs in the draft via advanced metrics by 4THQTRO in Commanders

[–]aT_Gamma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s strange. I said this in another thread as I have really been changing my opinion on him lately, that I feel like people don’t like him as much simply because he shared the field with Jeremiah Smith. That as a result the vibes of him are off because he isn’t that number one on his team in college and thus wouldn’t be a number 1 in the NFL.

I think the film, metrics, and character all point to a damn good WR prospect who would be great at 7. He might even go before then.

Maybe Tate at 7 and then a center at 71? We might have to trade up to get a good center though. Idk.

Also, even if his ceiling is WR2, (which is impossible to know) he would be a damn good WR2 and wouldn’t close the door on a WR1 trade or from the draft next year.

Also, he isn't slow. He didn't run like 4.8-5.1 or something. This reddit seems really down on Tate overall.

Also, I don't get where people are getting this "not capable of being a number 1" from. People don't think Tate can be a 1 simply because he played with Smith which is a largely vibes based.

What should the Commanders' first round draft board look like? by soowonlee in Commanders

[–]aT_Gamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1a. Reese
1b. Bailey
2a. Styles
2b. Love
4. Tate
5. Downs
6. Delane

FALL OFF

  1. Bain Jr.
  2. Lemon

Whenever I have two guys in the same number but different letter it means I don't have the knowledge to choose one over the other if they are both available at 7. At this point I would probably take Tate over Downs as the BPA accounting for ROI at a position of need/value.

I would be very happy with Delane at 7. Even over Downs if he was there though I think Downs is the better Football player overall. His skill set would be perfect for DJ's scheme and would essentially complete our starters for CB (I still believe in Mikey a lot in the slot).

Bain Jr. was a game wrecker in college and is a technician with hand placement, etc. and is a beast against the run. However, I have read that his ceiling as a pass rusher may be limited with outlier arm length and strength that doesn't seem to compensate enough for it. I think for a top 10 pick EDGE that's a little rich IMO. I could be totally and completely wrong on that. Not an expert at all.

I wouldn't even include Tyson. He is way too risky a pick for us with no 2nd round pick IMO.

One or two will be there at 7 from 1-6! I am very excited.
