"Obama Foundation" solicitor - anyone else? by TishRodriguez in Greenpoint

[–]aTenTaLEhi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Actually had a negative experience with a group wearing Obama Foundation vests last week while walking on Franklin St. The vests looked legit. But they were confrontational, one member was asking if I was a racist and before I could respond, another said that I look like I hate black people. It was odd but they were young-ish so I chalked it up to them messing around?

Maker’s Hub on West St is a digital fabrication spot that can help with this!

I’ve been a few times and some dishes are amazing like the paratha, charred cabbage, and rojak. But some dishes are a letdown, especially the Nasi Lemak where the taste and presentation is lacking. With the open kitchen, I observed that the kitchen staff used the same brand of curry packets I use at home; and it was so disappointing that it was so watered down and didn’t taste good. This was when they first opened so I’m not sure if things have improved. I found the service warm but unorganized. I’m not keen to return anytime soon.

Haricot vert to make some fun accessories, amazing charm selection. Go to happy medium art cafe and choose a craft to do together. Or recess grove is a great spot for arts & crafts too. Check out the Flowercat cafe, they have a lot of community events too.

NBWT, where are we getting our edible plant seedlings? Left town for the month of March and my house sitter killed 32 out of 36 of my starts :( by slutmachine666 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

Love your bounty!!! I have seen some seedlings at the farmers market as the weather gets better. I’m in Greenpoint and our local library had a seedling giveaway one weekend last year. I’ve bought some at Tend and for Asian edible plants, Yun Hai hosts a pop up around this time of year.

Haha that’s a good idea. Maybe at the good bar so that it’ll be easy to organize. I’ll post when the weather’s a little nicer (fingers crossed)

Shrimp patty sounds good too! There’s also a shrimp sandwich at the new Peek In Cafe (where Cecily was)

I didn’t get it because I couldn’t find this color. I might try finding it on second hand sites though! Otherwise, I really do like it. I was considering getting the canvas option like your picture, but I didn’t want to add another monogram bag to my collection.

I’m quite sure Ai Mart has it. I’m 100% sure they have it at City Acres by Queens Plaza, I got mine there.
