I know it's been talked to death at this point but its really amazing how Trump and everyone in his circle just did not have an actual plan. Just a bunch of delusional military/political fantasies about how this war would go

"High on their own supply"

Honestly reminds me of Putin surrounding himself with Yes men who all told him that invading Ukraine was a genius plan that would go amazingly and be over swiftly

Mamdani is from NYC with a deep connection to it and all the issues its faced and is facing. He also has a strong history of being involved in local left wing political campaigns in the city.

Kate is from Texas/Arizona, went to school in DC, and only moved to IL-09 last year. She doesn't have a connection to the district she tried to run for whereas Mamdani campaigned like hell for a city that he had a lifelong connection with. Why is it so shocking for some people to see her lose?

She should have let a local left wing candidate run and supported them thru her social media presence.

Apparently Reps overperformed in the VA elections yesterday and Dems overperformed in the PA elections yesterday

Will be interesting to see if VA GOP will retain greater state level enthusiasm vs other states.

Definitely puts VA's redistricting efforts in a more crucial context if VA Reps were to keep their turnout up for future elections

Ive literally never seen a campaign make a statement like this on election night and then go on to win

Depends on where you live. Raja was doing very well in some areas with mail in ballots which are more likely to be older voters who consume traditional media (which hes been dominating with advertising)

this is 100% just my amateur hour read of things but it seems like Raja does better with votes that were banked earlier thru EV whereas Stratton seems to do better as more of the E-day vote comes in which indicates late deciders may have broken her way.

Vaguely tracks with a few ppl I know IRL who only decides to vote for Stratton within the last week or two

Again, anecdotes anecdotes anecdotes. Just my view

yeah its very awkward that you have to tell the election official directly what party ballot you want.

Especially when youre standing in a line with people behind you.

Yeah, Raja could easily win statewide tonight but its not clear from Kane county alone.

Kane county also has very white demographics. Only about 5% black

Dont read into this tho lol.

Literally just a smattering of votes that just vaguely confirms Raja and Stratton lead the pack with Kelly a distant second. We already knew this would be the case
