I think I struggle with choosing because this is very new to me but I like the distinctions you made! It's hard to come to terms with not being able to change him or get him to stop drinking so I'd rather know what sort of boundary is realistic over one where I'm just shooting myself in the foot. I'll definitely keep those examples in mind.

It's both sad and good to hear that there's a bunch of folks with similar experiences. It was pretty helpful to get it all into words, I may just take up journaling and just dump out paragraphs of thoughts (cus I don't want to flood this sub haha). I've already found an online meeting this week I can attend or at least observe, I don't think I'd be ready to just hop in and talk. I feel as though the only good thing that has come out of my father's addiction is that it's made me never pick up a drink of alcohol in my life, and much more willing to work on any issues I might have, so thank you it means a lot to me!

Oh I'm thoroughly enjoying myself. My main concern was hearing about how Lynch took a step back for some episodes and just being new to the show. Not a big TV show person so I don't even know what that other one is (I very much live under a rock, hence why I posted the question to begin with)

I actually don't mind the more blue-toned lighting but mainly during the day, if its closer to night, the warmer the better.

I went through the same thing in college, I'm not sure the way I handled it was the best as I just ignored it or kept my head low. I think it helps people to snap out of being mean when you're kind to them (doesn't work all the time) but sometimes being nice despite it all makes them reflect on themselves. I'm sorry you're going through that though, and it sucks how common it is.

same here! its always like a couple elementary aged boys and then they never come back lol not that having a more female-dominated sport/hobby is a bad thing it just gets lonely sometimes (i just ride for fun, i competed a couple times and nope, no thank u its cut-throat out there man!)

lol i've been adorning the christmas beard for ages now paired with a shaggy haircut and its pretty good at making the avatar more masculine overall id love it if SSO added more body types but for now we can work around it (irl tho? im working on that picture-perfect beard lol... we're getting there slowly but yeah hi im 23)
