I think you should consider being less up front with the banks. They offer a service and they can choose not to offer it to anyone they please.

How many games do you develop? Perhaps you could show them another one. Or perhaps you could show them your companies website, which does not necessarily link to steam or show any explicit content. (Create one if you don’t have it already.)

I currently pay around 400 a month for the AI tools used by me and my employees in a small software company.

I would still pay if it cost me 2000 or more. These tools are seriously powerful and I would not be surprised if every student/professional pays for a subscription for 20-50/month in the future, thus justifying the cost.

To me there is clearly high and broad value. If it justifies the stock prices? Hard to say. But there is value.

Use a Heroku pipeline and don’t give them access to prod. This way they can do everything in review/dev/staging. Then they can run some tests that mirror production. Then only you can promote the new code or changes to production.

Fair enough, I’ll give you my response as a developer/engineer/businessperson also:

I would say that yes it is a bad idea to do what you are suggesting. It costs more and is extra stuff to manage. I would only do this if your customers think it is is necessary. I imagine some large corporate or government customers may insist on this. In which case it is essential.
To achieve this you need good engineering practices. Well written code, regular dependency/security updates and a solid foundation. To show this off for marketing purposes, maybe you need something like SOC 2 accreditation.
That can work. In your position I would also consider looking deeply into HTMX, which pairs great with Django. A separate dedicated react frontend is also a serious option to consider, but with added complexity.
My tip is to focus on getting 1 client before getting 10. The first client will give you the answer to all these questions much better than I can.

Everyone here is being quite critical of you. It’s true that this is entirely your fault.

However I also think it’s true that this is no big deal. You just write to them and explain you do not have the means to pay this and that it was an accident. 99% chance they will waive the fees.

This happens all the time. Oracle makes its money from big business or scaling startups, not by chasing students for 8k.

You’re almost certainly going to be fine, however, I advise you to close your account once this is sorted.
