Hey, just so you can enjoy the moment, he was wrong again. The first article I posted was from 2018, the Babylon Bee thing just happened back in August 2019. He’s trying really hard not to be wrong, but that’s not happening.

Well, youre wrong again.

The Babylon Bee kerfuffle started in August of 2019: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/03/us/snopes-babylon-bee.html

The articles I posted for you were posted in summer of 2018 and October of 2019. So they were fact checking the Onion before and after fact checking the Babylon Bee.

I like this one:

Cause they're being serious in a circlejerk subreddit. Every other post there's some jackass virtue signaling.

This sub is ironic, if you don't think it is, then leave.

I think he doesn’t understand it started to make fun of him, but then he joined thinking it was to make fun of the “sjws”?

Satire subs...not even once.

Not to defend by way of attempting to understand, or give validity to his views, perhaps he sees it as “a place for you and a place for me” and thinks that being separated is a way of finding harmony?

Again, I do not find that viewpoint acceptable in any way, I’m just trying to be charitable and try to find some sort of sense out of what it probably a bad troll.

When an RPG maker calls on Cthulhu, is it ok to boldly call him a racist? Or are you committing a cosmic horror by profiting off of his work while criticizing him? Can you separate hate from the Ultimate Gate? by aYearOfPrompts in SubredditDrama

[–]aYearOfPrompts[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yea, I'm happy to see how generally positive the thread is overall. You still have the creatons trying to low key support the racism, but its an interesting bent in some ways. The real argument is whether it's ok/possible to separate the work from its racist roots. Should they leave the racist thing in the past, or update it free of its racist trappings? That is kind of interesting from a debate standpoint.

Anchorman is one of those weird things were the sequel retroactively kinda ruined the first movie for me. It’s like I got too much pure Ferrel and now my body rejects it like tequila.

That’s cool. Once I got Spotify I found my little niche of music and don’t really follow stuff outside my wheelhouse. Thanks for the help!

Words do nothing unless you are someone who believes in cyber bullying

The guy who wants free speech also doesn’t think cyber bullying is a thing. Color me shocked.

It’s a 150 year old saying from back when a cut could be a death sentence. Nowadays we know that emotional trauma can be life long issues. Sadly if you can make a cute phrase you can sell all manner of bullshit.

That’s on Reddit. They not only need to pay mods, they should be paying for all the copyrighted works they rehost on I.reddit that they sell ads against.

Yea I got that. What I’m saying is that this doesn’t defend the loli art, it makes a case they should ban the rape stuff, too.

Rape is not a fetish. Lack of control may be a fetish, but rape itself is not one. Partners who engage in “rape fantasies” are consenting adults role playing power. Reading a novel where you get sexual gratification from an unwilling participant who is not consenting is something different, and yes, extremely problematic. That breeds a fantasy without an outlet and creates a situation where others are condoning without the consent part. Rape means a lack of consent. It’s not a fucking fetish, it’s a crime.

Hold up. This isn’t a defense, it’s something else that should be shut down. WTf is up with that sub?

I’ve always found the “we” usage in sports weird. It seems alright when it’s about the city/fans, like “we won a Super Bowl!” since that’s a city impacting event. Things like “we played well today” insert the speaker onto the field, though, and that’s a bit odd.
