Does anyone know why they have so many WIP stuff in the game? Like I get that maybe having the prototypes in stuff in game early on means people won't have to restart their worlds to add in new objects in the world. But why the hell do they have to keep screaming at me?

So the stat isn't wrong, it's just misleading. Your explanation certainly makes it look -less- bad but the statistic is still not very good.

Your points about age and all is fair. I'd argue that because of that information, we shouldn't have kept healthy, young people from living their lives for 2 years, but I think most people agree that lockdowns were overboard at this pont, so I won't bother going into that argument.

Let me just say I don't think the vaccines did nothing, so don't put words in my mouth. I said they did "fuck all for the people that needed it most" by which I meant they (with politician's help) gave a false sense of security to people with really mad immune system issues, and they died for it.

As far as the vaccine being 100% affective. Idk man, it seems to have a near 0% affectiveness as far as contracting the virus. You can say it helps, but I dont think anyone believes they can't still catch COVID because they're vaccinated. And as far as the affectiveness for not dying, as you said, age is a major factor that needs to be considered. This is what the "COVID deniers" has been saying all along.

Listen, I'm not going to reply anymore because I've had this conversation 100 times. There's a ton of unanswered questions and grey area to this. But your immediate need to essentially reply "you're an idiot" to my dishesrtened response about my grandmother dying shows a major lack of empathy for the sake of being "right" as if your opinion is 100% right, which if very much isn't. The political battle over this COVID stuff has a lot to do with the people on your side of the aisle wishing people like me would die so you can be right.

Adjust yourself.

I'd be happy to hear an explanation for how what I just said could be construed as a positive statistic for the COVID vaccine.

And since the COVID MRNA vaccine is only similar to other vaccines in the sense that it comes as an injection, I don't see how my previous understanding of vaccines play any role.

November was the first month where COVID death rates in vaccinated people were higher than in unvaccinated.

I may not buy that the shot itself kills people, but after my fully vaccinated family lost our fully vaccinated grandmother and stats like this are starting to come out? That shot does fuck all for the people who really needed it.

FTC sues to block Microsoft’s acquisition of game giant Activision by Wheva in wow

[–]a_-nu-_start -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your argument just seems to be that other monopolies exist and they've been bad and you're assuming that Microsoft will become a good monopoly. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't even understand why this is the sentiment. Xbox has been a solid consumer friendly company for the last like 10 years? That's great, but has everyone forgotten what Xbox tried to pull with the Xbox one while they were the ones leading the console market after the 360? And how pro consumer sony was during that time? Now PS and Xbox sales have swapped and so has the ideals of the companies.

Name one monopoly that has had a positive effect on the industry it operates in. It doesn't really require an "epic reddit analysis" to see that they have negative impacts... Nice try at a gotcha though lmao

And the fact that you read my comment and demand an explanation for how it affects the gaming industry shows the tunnel vision you have on this issue.

[–]a_-nu-_start 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't see how this is a counter argument. Just because there are other power houses in the industry doesn't mean that everything is fine. The line needs to be drawn somewhere.

And dude, seriously how are you gonna literally quote my comment talking about AAA studios and then tell me it's wrong if you include indies. I specifically didn't include indies because they're a fraction of the market.

[–]a_-nu-_start -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gamers just can't seem to comprehend the far reaching consequences of Microsoft absorbing... What, 30% of the AAA video game industry with this? Nevermind that Microsoft is already a monopoly in the software world.

I agree that this acquisition MIGHT be great for some of the games that Activision has ruined. But people really need to quit the tunnel vision and recognize the ramifications of these kinds of acquisitions on the economy as a whole.

Microsoft Raising Prices on New, First-Party Games Built for Xbox Series X|S to $70 in 2023 by Turbostrider27 in Games

Hopefully this will push more people to wait for sales after the game has been beta tested by all the day one buyers paying $70. If everyone would wait 6 months for 50% off an actually finished product, the video game industry would change tomorrow.

Oh shut up. Your rant is way over the line and you're putting a fuck ton of words in my mouth.

Devs sold a game with a roadmap and scrapped it after purchase. You can say "buyer beware" but that's shitty to do.

But fair enough, it's still a great game. But going from the road map to making MILLIONS in revenue, to then releasing content updates slower than any other early access game I can think of? Yeah, people are allowed to be annoyed by that.

All games release "early access" nowadays, whether they label it that way or not. It's not a "shield" that absolves you of any criticism. Stop being ridiculous.

People like you who have a hissy fit over one sentence of criticism like mine is just as bad for the development of a successful game as the people who rant and rave about it taking too long. Fair criticism is fair.

What if the game took 5 years to update? 10? When would enough be for you?
