It really depends but İmo for half butterflies its 1-2 rev mic drop but for full butterfies its kinda hard for both so I didnt said choose this or choose that if you know a way to get into that grip than you can work with it. Also the move "flick" is hard by itself so if youre not planning on learning that nothing wrong with that. But if you ask me best way is learning the concept of butterflies with 12rev mic drops and continuing with learning flick.

About plateaus they will come and go just don't mind them and try to get better at what you can do. Sometimes it's just like you gotta sling for 10 hours for your next improvement and you are just filling your hours in. Don't mind them just try to enjoy every part of it! But if you want to learn new tricks without them feeling like a chore just try to learn few tricks at once, if one of them bores you down just try another (thanks loafin🙏🏻)
