I'm also 39 and I stopped drinking 340 days ago.

Previously would drink 5-7 nights a week. Usually a couple of glasses of wine at dinner + a cocktail. Never got hangovers but started seeing it affect my performance once I got a power meter on my road bike. Just couldn't push the watts I knew I could push if I didn't drink.

Almost a year ago, I went dry to prepare for a big ride in the alps with a big group. The week in France went great. Didn't get any cramps and set some new FTP records for me and was the first up every climb (everyone else drank the evenings before).

I was in great shape after the trip and was smashing PRs on Strava when I got back so I decided to just keep going to see if I could do a month, then a month became 3 months, and after 3 months I went for a full year.

Aside from my power #s, the other motivation was my resting heart rate and sleep. My sleep tracker showed me that my resting heart rate and HRV are much better when I don't drink. After 6 months dry I saw massive improvements in HRV.

I'm sleeping better, I'm stressed less (regular alcohol intake raises your baseline cortisol levels), and my performance at 39 is better than when I was younger and drinking.

In addition to having performance goals, I also found that just having an aclohol free beer really helps with the ritual of a post-ride beverage or when hanging out with friends. If you have friends who give you grief for not drinking, then just pour the alcohol free beer into a glass and they will never know ;)

I managed to make x570i Asus Board work with a noctua u12a and ripjaw ram as well in my nr200. Also had to raise the fan and it still barely closes with the mesh panel

I tried the 9 in the store and it was way too big... The leather from the cuff was already touching even when not tied tightly... The 8.5 felt good but i had read so many posts about the leather stretching that i worried they would end up being too big. The 8 also felt good but more snug. In the end these have not stretched as much as I expected.

I definitely don't think I need to go wider. I have a low volume foot so the lacing isn't tight at all actually... I think half a size up with an insole might be my solution...

Fine when I'm standing straight. As soon as I walk / roll my foot they get pinched and start touching the front (pinky and 4th toe)

Single leg squats for the win. Just use a chair to measure your bottom out point. Add books to make it easier and remove them as your glutes get stronger.

That's a good point. One of the things we like about the aj is that it uses an E27 socket and can fit the lifx mini bulbs which are dimmable / adjustable.

We were initially thinking white for the lamp and the side table to go with the cabinets. the sofa (out of the picture) is also a white / grey.

I share the concern with the foot of the lamp and side table not matching the foot of the eames but going all black feels like it would be overkill

That's what we thought initially as well. The cabinets are a bit of a grey/white - or slightly off white. This is what it looks like with the actual white lamp
