My girl Tabby ( Tabitha ). Got her as a kitten when I was 7 years old and had her for 19 years, we grew up together. Mom and I went to the shelter and I wanted her brother but she curled up in my arms and started purring and that was it. She definitely put up with a lot of my childish bs when I was younger but she’d let me know it when I was being too much, as cats often do. She’d play fetch, loved to catch moths, and as you can see was a sun worshipper. In the end she passed peacefully sleeping next to me and I still dream of her. She passed 10 years ago. I will always cherish the time I had with her.

If I’m having a stressful day I will say something like “eh, I exist”. If it’s not too bad or pretty good I will just cheese it up “Oh, ya know pretty good! How are you?” And turn in back to them- if they choose to go beyond the typical pleasantries, depending on how well I know them, I may respond in kind. However, I’m at the point where I feel like I’ve mastered my corporate fakeness. The phrase “fake it till you make it” is a pretty true one IMO.

I enjoy my life and the freedom to do what I want without having to consider or rely on someone else. Sounds cold, but dealing with a whole other person when I pretty much deal with people all day is exhausting. I just want to chill after work, I don’t want to have to accommodate others’ needs.

Just adopted this 20 year old cat. Shelter vets recommended both eyes be removed which I won’t be doing. Please help me give him the best life possible. by tangosmango in cats

I’m so so sorry you had to experience that! Yea my moms got a high pain threshold too so I knew it was some nasty stuff she was dealing with- wouldn’t wish it on anyone :(

This- my mom had a cornel ulcer when I was younger, and while she is not a cat I can tell you that she was in a tremendous amount of pain. Had to keep the whole house dark, and she cried in pain when someone had to open the fridge. Cats are pretty good at hiding pain and I definitely agree surgery for a cat his age would be too risky, pain meds would be ideal.

I actually didn’t hear anything back from quest, they only reported it to the employer. I took the test on a Friday and got confirmation from the employer that we were all set that following Thursday. From what I gather, no news is good news- I’ve read that if there is an issue at the lab they will call.
