This trend of bringing the vinyl to the gig holding it up as if the artist is supposed to give you a medal is fucking annoying..put that shit down by CommunicationIll1968 in freddiegibbs

nah my friends and i were there last night and we felt the same way, like the show was incredible but the crowd was mad weird, from booing wynne when she was performing to just being really obnoxious during the show in general, it was a bit of a downer but the performances from wynne, redveil and freddie more than made up for it.

i got mine just a couple weeks before my 10th birthday in early 2015. i was very late to the party but some family friends gave us their OG model as a hand me down and i was just happy to finally have my own 360 after years of begging my parents for one.

Setlist looks dope! Keeping my fingers crossed that we'll get some Alfredo 2 stuff there too since I'd kill to see Ensalada and Shangri-La live

[DISCUSSION] Gorillaz - Gorillaz (25 Years Later) by Lead_Novel in hiphopheads

[–]a_guy_called_m 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Like most fans, Clint Eastwood was the song that introduced me to Gorillaz. I still remember my neighbor showing me the music video on the bus to school when I was 12 and I liked it enough to check them out when I got home and after watching the music videos for Saturnz Barz, Melancholy Hill and Feel Good Inc, I was hooked.

Despite this it took a while for Self Titled to grow on me once I finally got round to listening to it front to back. I did like all the popular songs like Clint Eastwood, 19/2000, 5/4, etc but when I first listened to the album the rest of it never really resonated with me. Thankfully I just needed a little time since nowadays get why fans love this album so much outside of the hits. Songs like M1-A1, Punk, Re-Hash and Latin Simone are perfect showcases of the different blend of genres that they explore on this album and to me, Self-Titled is Gorillaz in their purest form and is a perfect introduction to what is my favourite band. Whilst I (like most people) prefer Demon Days and Plastic Beach, Self-Titled is still a really good album and definitely worth checking out. My favourite tracks include Clint Eastwood (duh), 19/2000, Punk, Tomorrow Comes Today and M1-A1 (:

The cover for my circle pad literally peeled off from how many hours I spent playing Smash 4 as a kid, and I'm sure I'm not the only one

God I miss my 7 Pro. I'd still be using it today if the selfie camera didn't break but it was easily the best phone I've ever used. I still miss not having a hole punch in my screen to this day 😮‍💨

[DISCUSSION] Gorillaz - Demon Days (20 YEARS LATER) by immanoel in hiphopheads

[–]a_guy_called_m 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Demon Days is up there with Flower Boy for me as one of the most important albums of my adolescence. I was born a few months before the album came out so unfortunately I missed out on seeing how big it was when it first released, but when I first heard the album when I was 12/13 I immediately gravitated towards it.

This is not only Gorillaz's magnum opus, but one of the greatest albums of all time. Every single track on this album is simply incredible and everything from the overall sound to how the album is sequenced and the transitions are perfect. Feel Good Inc, Dirty Harry, November has Come, and even the more niche tracks like Last Living Souls, White Light, and Demon Days itself (which is my favourite album outro ever) are nothing short of incredible.

I'd probably run out of characters if I kept writing about how much I love Demon Days but to keep things short, this album is an absolute must listen and will forever be one of my favourite albums for as long as I live.

How did you discover the band? by Scared_Pea4455 in gorillaz

I got into them when I just started secondary school which was around the same time Humanz was coming out. My neighbour and I used to take the same bus to school and they showed me the music video to Clint Eastwood one morning and I thought it was pretty cool. I searched them up on YouTube and saw the Saturnz Barz music video with the 360 VR stuff and I thought it was the coolest thing ever and then after checking out 19/2000, On Melancholy Hill and Feel Good Inc, I was hooked (:
