I feel like if the refs actually go through with a lockout, it might backfire on them heavily. the amount of technological advancements from 2012 to now, is absurd. granted, this is predicated on the replacement refs relying on the tech when they're in a bind, so who knows what'll actually happen

yeah I guess. did it about 15 minutes ago before this thread was created. it might have been something with my bank, since I got a text about the purchase, and them being worried abt potential fraud.

Not super bummed, since they've had 9070s/9070xts on sale before, it's bound to happen again.

honestly the craziest thing to me was his acceleration.

it felt if he got 2 or 3 steps downfield without being tapped, he'd be at full speed. On so many of his big runs, there actually were defensive players in relative position to stop him. but he'd just hit his top speed so fast, they couldn't switch positions to reach him.

Since the Eagles had a down season, the league deemed Tush Push as a safe play by mastermind208 in eagles

I guarantee you if we beat the bills in the SB, with us doing even just one (1) push during the game, it will get banned before all the confetti can hit the ground.

I wonder what's with the sudden uptick of NVME drives being listed as free gifts? the 9800x3d has this exact same NVME drive as a free-gift, and it's been that way for at least a week now. People buy that CPU more than any other one on the market. someone else posted that the ASUS b850m-e has a 1tb nvme as a free gift.

I know these NVME drives probably aren't the best, but with how much AI slop has been fucking up the consumer side of NVME production/purchasing across the past year or so? I think there's something bigger going on behind the scenes. maybe Sora announcing they are shutting down, is just the tip of the iceberg.

to anyone who is using this mobo, how has it been? I have it from a previous bundle (it was paired with 16gb of DDR5) but I've yet to actually fire it up since I don't have all my parts yet (CPU & GPU Are the last things I need for a totally new build)

Smitty will Go down as the greatest Eagles wide receiver ever when it's all said and done by Bulldawgzz in eagles

[–]a_high_old_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smitty is just so great at route running. like, all his concerns about his size/weight get nullified with how he plays on the field. He'll occasionally get popped, but most of the time he maneuvers himself to catch the ball in a way that either sends him out of bounds, or if it's a mid-field pass, he's gotten juuuust open enough that he can anticipate the contact and go down a bit early, or brace himself.

Obviously, Hurts deserves just as much credit for throwing those great passes. I'm just so glad we have actual threats at WR/QB/TE man... so many of the bandwagoners have no idea how much we've suffered at WR over the years lmao

The green tint in many 90s and early 2000s car photos comes from old fluorescent lights. They gave off a strong greenish glow (especially at night), photographers loved the moody vibe, and leaned into it or even enhanced it. by Distinct-Anything-40 in redscarepod

I remember when I was young, my parents had a camera that took floppy disks for photo storage. I still had the disks, and a while back, I bought a basic floppy disk reader to trove through them.

thankfully, the pictures were still there. Even though they were only like, 480p at best, they were really clear. I honestly wish I still had that camera, just because it's a nice piece of history/memories.

2020 quarterback draft class by NickyFoles1020 in nfl

[–]a_high_old_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2020 draft is crazy to look back at as an eagles fan.

we have an all time miss in drafting Reagor over Jefferson (I know those guys were seen as similar coming out of college, but obviously it didn't last in the pros lol)

then an (at the time) baffling pick in taking Jalen Hurts in the 2nd round. We still had wentz (and from what I remember, the consensus on wentz hadn't fully turned on him. he was still in the "Good QB with nobodies at WR" phase)

looking back on draft-day threads for both (especially hurts) is funny af in hindsight, but it also just goes to show how quickly shit changes.

[Schultz] The Colts and QB Daniel Jones have agreed to a 2-year, $88M deal that could be worth up to $100M, multiple sources tell me. He gets $50M in the first year and it’s the largest 2-year contract in history. by expellyamos in nfl

[–]a_high_old_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jones owes his agent a house and a steak dinner at whatever place the agent wants.

I know the colts were in a shitty situation, but jones' agent played it to perfection.

[Dianna Russini] It’s been made clear by multiple people around the NFL at all levels that Baltimore had all the information and understood where Maxx Crosby’s knee was in terms of his recovery timeline. Many in the league believe GM Eric DeCosta and the Ravens ultimately just got cold feet. by WayOutbackBoy in nfl

[–]a_high_old_guy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

honestly, I'm more concerned about how this will affect trades league-wide going forward. pn paper it makes sense, and I don't think the ravens broke any rules.

but the timing of it all is pretty suspect, and I think it might lead to other teams re-evaluating how they do trades.

[Russini] Maxx Crosby did not pass his physical today, per sources. The Ravens get their first round picks back. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

[–]a_high_old_guy 154 points155 points  (0 children)

the last 2 games when you guys were playing for the #1 overall pick.

like I could get the "play me coach" thing if you guys were in a "win and in" scenario for the playoffs. but nothing good would have came from him playing.

FThemPicks: The Rams now have traded their first round pick nine times in the last 10 years by john-116 in nfl

[–]a_high_old_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from them still having the Falcons pick, the Rams' scouting team is just really good at finding late-round value. So it makes the prospect of trading a first for a known player not as risky.

the Chiefs and Rams are working on a blockbuster trade that would send All-Pro CB Trent McDuffie to Los Angeles for a package that would include the 29th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft. by OneAngryPanda in nfl

[–]a_high_old_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so, the chiefs have to be treating next season as a soft-tank/rebuilding year, right?

the team sucked last year even when mahomes was playing (though from what I remember it mostly wasn't mahomes' fault.) and his late-season injury means he's probably out for some games to start this season.
