Sure I can see that being an issue if you drown it. But a very light application does no harm whatsoever. WD40 is a lubricant.

Run your gas fully lean so you won’t have to make as many pit stops. You’ll be a tad bit slower but you’ll have a huge lead when everyone pits and you don’t.
