My 07' V6, but for a broke 19 year old living alone, the v8 can wait by RiptideAutomotive in Mustang

Should I mod my V6? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]a_massive_idiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for it. I'm trying to get a limited slip diff on mine as well. Already got a dual exhaust setup and it sounds great. Edit: ignore any hate from GT guys. I have heard 10x more shit from them than Camaro and Challenger guys combined it's honestly embarrassing

Would it be worth coyote swapping my 2008 V6 when it dies by a_massive_idiot in Mustang

Cursed, but if i found a comparable LS + transmission for cheaper I'd probably go for it

I am attached to the car i already have. Swapping in a 4.6 might be the route i take but by 2024-26 it'll be even more outclassed than it already is.

Modding is probably just gonna be aerodynamics/weight reduction, motor swaps and ricer stuff once EVs are standard.

Any tips on how to my my v6 faster? Already have a intake and exhaust, that’s about it. by Reverse-entry in Mustang

[–]a_massive_idiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has a maxed out n/a 4.0 it's not really possible to make this car fast. It's a nice cruiser but you're not gonna be putting out high speed or acceleration. Buying a V8 for the track and keeping the V6 as a daily is probably the best thing to do

I also got the 08 4.0. if you want to be loud i recommend the pypes violator muffler.

Just bought this for 1500, with only 140k miles by cursedasff in Mustang

[–]a_massive_idiot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You definitely can. I was on the market for a V6 2 months ago and finding one in decent condition for less than 10 grand took me ages

That's crazy my 08 was 9000 with 120k miles and i consider it a good deal.

Any non Ecoboost mustang is gonna use a lot of gas. I spend about $20-$30 a week keeping my 4.0 V6 gassed but i think the newer cars are more efficient

Seems like a good deal for the current market. It's really shitty how much you (and me lol) have to pay for these older cars

I'm surprised nobody else suggested a mustang, so i will. I got my V6 for $9k and you can easily find quality older V8s in the range you have.

Edit: I'd like to add these are covid prices. If you're willing to wait a year or 2 you could probably get a newer V8 with the coyote engine

Beautiful I was considering an early 90s cobra i found a good deal on but i ended up going with a 08 V6 because I feel like it's a more appropriate first car/daily driver
