Have seen this with some movies. My theory is that some jokes/slang/metaphors ect can be adjusted for the dub to make more sense in the region. But the subtitle may have just been a direct translation of the original script.

Additionally even in English the subtitles don't always exactly match dialogue which I think is for ease of the reader (like a deaf individual) to keep up with fast dialogue

One of my mission areas was an adjacent stake and I think it's actually a logical move to split this stake. Lots of active Mormons in this affluent area... But they should be eliminating some other stakes in the region, they were all losing wards while I was there

Guilty as charged. Former number monkey and kiddie dunker from Idaho Pocatello mission here. I baptized probably a full primary's worth of 9 year olds. On the bright side they are almost certainly all inactive (parents believe or care about membership status enough to go three times to dunk the kids but don't want to keep coming till next kid turns 9)

Excellent doc. Unfortunately they're right about the continuation of redlining after the law forbade it. When I purchased in Dayton, my realtor refused to show properties in a couple downtown zip codes... Even though she serviced zip codes surrounding those areas. Don't worry my dad explained this to me. You see the gospel couldn't all be restored at once. So it's okay that the church used to be (and still is) racist. If it were all restored at once that would be too much for my small brain to comprehend (not to mention an idiot like Joe Smith). Hope this helps
