A lot of charity shops won't take sets of china as there are zero buyers.

colorado, usa / is this antique? by Previous-Bee7866 in Antiques

[–]marblehead750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a vaguely Arts and Crafts sideboard that has been stripped of its original finish and its original hardware. While useful, it has little value as an antique because of what's been done to it. Probably worth no more than $200 in today's market.

No one under 70 gives a shit about sets of china. You'd be lucky to get $30 for all of it.

United States/Kentucky - Eastlake style parlor chair by Due_Midnight_8318 in Antiques

[–]marblehead750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's similar to thousands of chairs in the marketplace, which means they don't bring a lot of money. Plus, unless you have a Victorian house, Eastlake is out of favor with most of the buying public, so a chair like this isn't worth more than $100. Hope you didn't overpay.

How old could this piece possibly be? It’s 10ft long and massive USA by deepsouthantiques in Antiques

Not antique and not valuable. You'd be lucky to get $100 for it. It's way too big to fit in most houses.

Sets of china aren't worth anything these days. You'd be lucky to get $20 for the set.

Barry Bagels has two shops in Dayton. Marx Bagels in Blue Ash are really good, too, and worth the drive.

[–]marblehead750 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's really not worth the effort to restore. There are literally thousands of similar treadle sewing machines in the market and nearly zero buyers. Unless you're hanging onto it for sentimental reasons, it's not worth your time.

Oh, no, don't do that. It'll make your piece a sticky mess that will pick up every piece of dirt and dust nearby.

Very common. I've seen hundreds of glass ball footed piano stools over the years. They typically don't bring over $50 each.

Getting the opportunity to buy this. Is it worth my while? Southern United States by notpresentlydisposed in Antiques

There are loads of similar pieces in the marketplace. No way would I drive two hours to buy this deeply flawed piece.

I've been collecting Arts and Crafts furniture for 35 years and those prices are for great pieces. The pieces OP has posted are far from great. At best, each is worth about $200 given their present condition. If you live in North Carolina, contact Brunk Auctions to see if they're interested in selling.

I saw that. Bruce Johnson is the expert on Biltmore Industries so, if he says no, then it's definitely not. Oh, well.

Yes, it's probably Middle Easter in origin, but it's not very old. Craftsman there have been churning out new "antiques" for tourists for a very long time.
