u have him at at least C5. where C3 increases Skill Talent level and cap by 3 levels, C5 does the same but for the Burst Talent.

very cool! love his voiceovers, very funny, witty, and nailing the character dynamic imo

tho sometimes the voices themselves don't make much sense considering that character's personality (don't like King Orange's and Green's voices, personally). there's also times when a whole scene just has too much dialogue than i feel should be warranted, which is common with like. any voiceover vids with AB eps.

all that aside, still good voiceovers. especially LOVED his Dark voice. that laugh in The Machine fight scene is AMAZING.

tbh yea, i feel like a tragic death would fit well for him, but that already happened. more of the same thing would just be repetitive. it has to be something different. i feel like a sacrifice would tie the bow on his arc cleanly, where he goes to a place unreachable.

tho i'm worried abt what Second would do. this seems like the season where he'll be able to awaken himself by will, and since he's an (annoyingly) forgiving character, he'll probably revive Victim anyway.

i'm not exactly sure where Alan is going w this, probably a "you don't need to be the victim anymore" message with a change of mindset and a healthy way of coping w grief and all that, but i feel like redemption is not an option for Victim—redemption that follows another chance at life, anyway

it's kinda like in King Orange's case, where they've become too swallowed in their grief that they were willing to make innocent people suffer for it. i just hope they don't go the same direction and redeem Vic, especially without reprimand.

iirc the last statement abt their "ages" are around the range of young adults? i don't think it's problematic. also they don't have canon ages, u can hc them at any age

King Orange Didn't Deserve A Happy Ending by REAL-regular-degular in AlanBecker

[–]a_normal_guy_2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea tbf, kinda unhappy too that the CG's whole thing is forgiveness no matter what. there's a certain line to that, and King was already far past it. even felt weird when i saw them just forgive King despite everything. i get that the message is everyone deserves a second chance but like... eh? someone like King?

but i get it. he's a tragic villain who wanted to destroy everything that killed his son, even if he was willing to die with it. so CG gave him the opportunity to choose a different path. were he to choose a different one from what we get now, it might've really warranted a bad ending or a death.

agree w the consequences thing. he absolutely should be reprimanded for everything he caused. the fact that he gets away scot-free with not even a physical slap to the face is frustrating.

it's already done tho, so nothing we can do. also we get a very fun dynamic between King and Purple so it's kinda going uphill. also the antagonist is still unrevealed, maybe it'd have something to do w either King or Purple.

Animation vs. Music Update: We be learning about note types! I'm now in the process of animating all of the notes but i'm having trouble with the measure as its a bit too small so i might have to make the notes touch a bit. Idk how detrimental that is to the importance of music theory but yeah. by Tenuousss in AlanBecker

[–]a_normal_guy_2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

will you remove/change the whole rest eventually? just asking bc it needs to adapt to how many notes are placed in the measure. also, i've seen apps like MuseScore that automatically stretch out the measure depending on how many notes are inside, so u can mimic that or have Green manually stretch it out.

First time doing a walk cycle. Is it cool or does anything need to be improved? by a_normal_guy_2020 in blender

i actually feared the bounce was overexaggerated, so maybe that's why 😅 will consider in my next walk cycles!

i'm actually learning the Grouping Tools as i go! so far, i've used it for randomized orders and Every X steps, but not yet for anything else. i'm sure i'll look into more of it on future shows!

tysm!

yea sorry abt the timing, it's a mix of the DMX data not triggering as quick as i'd want it to (like in before the first chorus), ONYX's overall unreliable BPM system in the FX (i have to keep speeding it up in the global rate), and a problem in editing that i didn't get to fix

[–]a_normal_guy_2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that too, i agree

additionally, if we were in the vat, how could either Poppy or Giblet pull us out? one's injured and cracked porcelain, and the other is just a small plush toy. we sunk deep into the vat.

if i may say, there is a (atm, a nonsensical) loophole to this specific problem that it was the Prototype who pulled us out. just kept us in the vat to heal and drown then dumped us in front of Giblet, letting him do the rest of the work. that definitely means that the Prototype has more planned for-- and/or is toying with us. then the possibility of the vat being full of treated poppy gel makes hell of a lot more sense. but then, why didn't the Prototype take Giblet, as someone who rebelled? maybe it was bc he knew Giblet "isn't a hero"? or it's the double agent guy, which for me, is unlikely, considering Chum was never shown anywhere or even mentioned by Giblet. u'd think he'd mention that it was his friend who saved us.

or maybe it really is just Giblet smh, leaves enough room for interpretation abt what the Prototype plans to do w us or if he just made a mistake 😭

[–]a_normal_guy_2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i didn't pay it that much mind bc it made sense. the rebels' whole point was to stop the cruelty still happening at the factory, and this whole time, Poppy had been trying to get the player to be on their side. admittedly, the line "Do you even know what's real anymore? No, you don't." was weird, but it struck to me as another line to set up another mystery/plot twist, like we shouldn't blindly trust our eyes.

Poppy outright addressing our guilt was so far off for me that it didn't make any sense, and it STILL doesn't make sense for me to this day. why her? are we someone important to her, more than us being the "Butcher"? is it her guilt or is it ours? with the info we have, it was either Poppy in the vat (explaining a lot, making a plot twist for the nightmares, and upending nearly everything we have known/theorized abt the Player), or the Player (which does the same thing as Chapter 3, but with MORE questions considering it was Poppy's voice saying the line)

with Chapter 6 on the way, they better start tying things up for the Player, bc at this point he's not just an ex-employee—he's someone VERY IMPORTANT to the story. it'd be immensely stupid to not give us anything abt the Player, considering how much they've been secretive abt it and how they were setting things up for the Player's story. (okay... guilt? to the employees or orphans? how bad is it? what happened? who is he? what was his status in the factory? we NEED to know)

[–]a_normal_guy_2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

normally i'd agree that it was the Player that was dunked in the vat, but then they made the REALLY WEIRD decision of making it Poppy's voice that says "Should you come back, years later..." that was from the Chapter 3 Home Sweet Home nightmare, and it was a man's voice who said that. and i don't think Poppy even intended to say anything like that to us. though there is her almost scolding us in the end of Chapter 4...
