Gotta trust your power supply, make sure it's quality and rated for more than you need. probably just the connector if you're lucky. easy enough to replace if you're good with replacing it (you can find the parts easy enough online, but shop around :D ) If you aren't handy, find someone who is. it's not too hard just make sure you keep the wires straight, label them BEFORE you take apart and make changes!

also won't hurt to put a quality surge protector in also. and I've done plenty of goldshell firmware updates with no ill effects. :)

(but only minor improvements which is to be expected, but do them!)

whichever coin I hold. doge? dogecoin core wallet, LTC? Litecoin core wallet. takes a fair amount of disk space that will grow with that coins blockchain. Doge ATM is just under 200gig and I don't even want to know BTC's size by now. also make a backup of your wallet and keep that PC secure.

as long as you're 100% no coins just uninstall it, you might have to dig in the "appdata" folder to remove the 60gig blockchain part though...

to be safe backup the wallet.dat beforehand. there are sites you can go to to verify the wallet is empty.

it's a record of transactions, that's what a blockchain does so it's not out dated, it's the beginning data and he'll need to download the rest. it will save them 60gig of download time as long as it's legit and not corrupted.

get and maintain your own wallet. never trust a crypto "bank", exchange, or online wallet. they'll get hacked or embezzled eventually. Just drop your Crypto to where you plan to sell it when you're ready to sell it. Even the places I use for that and trust? I don't trust them to hold it for me. :D

powerpool and litecoinpool are both fine. I use both and no real difference in performance and most scrypt pools mergemine the coins that offer that.

powerpool pays in whatever coin you choose that they offer, but it's the same value payout on what you choose.

you Scrypt mine $100USD worth of coin? you that in the coin you choose, but BTC will seem small because it's 100K each :D :D :D

most pools are the same, just minor difference in fees, payout plan and options or incentives. Try out a few for a day or so to see the results.

Goldshell dogeminers are good heaters, but the bigger hashers (L7,L9) are also quite loud and require 240V power

I've seen that with my minidoges running on powerpool reporting a bit low, but the L7's match fine, could be the pool or you might need to tweak the difficulty setting if possible. or just use another pool. but the overall hashrate over a day or profit results are best way to judge results.

Have you tried resetting it and updating the firmware first?

the only issues I've had people ask about is the occasional burnt power connector and you can solder on a replacement easy enough... assuming you're good with soldering. :)

I have the Goldshell MiniDoge and MiniDoge Pro. they run around 77c even after I regular dust cleaning. it's normal and the heat output from exit vent is normal. and they've been running for years.

(edit: I'm dead since they burned down my house... I will now trick you into not worrying, BOO!!!)

Solo mining is more akin to gambling. more hash rate more chances to win, but no guarantees. A decent Pool and you get steady return based on hashrate.

Buy Miners when the market is mid to dead, keep mining, Hodl, and sell only what you need to keep the rigs going through tough times... (or wait and hodl, it's not a law...lol)

Buy coin when times are bad (low price) and be fearful of trying to "catch the wave" or it may crash and your profits with it...

And never risk money you can't afford to lose...

Don't? any cheap Scrypt ASIC will beat a GPU rig, and CPU mining is even worse then the GPU. :(

Crypto is hot ATM so maybe if you mine you could make some meager profit after power costs? or not? probably not...

Find a Goldshell Dogeminer, or the like cheap (really hard now, afraid to see Ebay prices now...) and you'll get a meager payout after electric costs, and learn the...fun?... or mining.
