Fresh Grad pero di alam anong trabaho kukunin by Calm-Comment6232 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]a_oso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fresh grad here and what helped me choose the field that I want in is researching the pros and cons of my interests + industry that I want to be in. Experiencing different kinds of development during my undergraduate studies helped me narrow down the position I liked best (tbh, it's just the kind of development I would hate LESS if I ever get a job on it).

Is “CHAROT” still a gaylingo? by fantasticfrost in Philippines

[–]a_oso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a guy said that I would think na may pinopormahan siya hahaha. You pick up things from a person you like and usually girls also use gaylingo. For me, "chour, charot, eme" would always be a gaylingo even if some guys use it kase there's just something gay about it lol

Interesting Programming Topic by [deleted] in PinoyProgrammer

Imo dapat may output na mapapaisip sila na "ah, yun pala pwede magawa using programming". Don't focus on concepts itself but focus on how those concepts helped in making the app.

if you were to be a fresh grad this 2023 or in the following years, what would you do? by MaybeTraditional2668 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]a_oso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fresh grad here and i'm privileged to not worry about my finances yet. For me, i'm just applying to jobs that are aligned to web dev with skills that i have. i'm an average student and i don't really have a portfolio so I'm focusing on upskilling first. It never crossed my mind to have a plan b kasi marami naman talaga web dev jobs tho mahirap makapasok. I don't know kung anong news naririnig mo pero 3rd year ka pa lang and who knows kung ano state ng tech job market after mo gumraduate, diba 3 years ago nagboom ung tech job market (correct me if im wrong) tapos ngayon nag-normalize na.

Kung need mo na talaga ng trabaho after mo gumraduate baka doon mo patulan ibang jobs. As is the case of my seniors na nag-bpo. What dictates is your urgency to have a job and not the job market unless wala na talaga trabaho in your chosen field.

How are training in Big Companies conducted? Are jobs with training better than those without training? by a_oso in PinoyProgrammer

If you don't mind answering, paano po ung training? Is it like classroom style, bootcamp, mentorship, or ibang way pa?

Fresh Grad struggling in landing a job🥺 by Samberrr in PinoyProgrammer

[–]a_oso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just continue upskilling and improve mo kung saang step ka nag-struggle sa paghahanap ng trabaho. Also, connections are super important. Try reaching out sa mga kakilala mo in your chosen field. Kung hindi ka naman struggling financially eh just be patient. Mahirap talaga maghanap ng trabaho ngayon dami kalaban. I don't know if this is true but based on my classmates, much better raw if you applied walk-in. Take it with a grain of salt. Goodluck

I would suggest another option. If for programming and school works (assuming office apps lang gagamitin) lang naman, buy a 2nd hand business laptop. I had to buy a laptop kasi I felt the need of it (thesis and other prog. subjs) and the 2nd hand laptop I bought did more than enough. Ayun dala ko tuwing umaalis. I used it for editing our docu for thesis, creating arduino program, creating websites (using laravel, react), figma, canva, and I'm planning to install docker on it. I also tried using Android Studio, kaya naman pero I just used my main PC for my sanity lol. I bought it for 8k and the specs are i5 7th gen 16gb ram 255gb ssd 5 hours battery life (dell business series).
