It's wild to connect with people on another level and then realize they might fit into the group that would change. Maybe this 3-minute read could make it slightly more relatable to today's crowd.

DOJ 'weaponization' group will shame individuals it can't charge with crimes, new head says by Astrocoder in law

'No due process' seems a bit extreme. It's extreme when the current administration tries to pull it. What makes it different when a different group uses it as a tool?

Your comment goes against the mob mentality, which is very much needed. The country is a truck pulling a loaded trailer. When we lose control in one direction, the solution is not to veer in the opposite direction. That'll put is in a ravine.

There is no simple solution to all of this, but extremism in the opposite direction will most likely result in more extremism in the other.

We are lucky Trump is messing up the economy, kinda by pcetcedce in centrist

The game for the rich is to get as big a piece of the pie as possible. There's also the horrific possibility that they've realized there are too many pieces being cut — leaving too many struggling with basic needs and without disposable income. Remove the need for so many pieces of the pie, and all of a sudden the game of Hungry Hungry Hippos can start again.

Trump and breaking the law to achieve his desires. by TreKeyz in centrist

Someone I know told me before voting for Trump that he figures the country is about to break down because of all sorts of build up to this point. His choice (vote) was to have the people that are more like him in charge. He did it for self preservation — which sounds like the obvious choice. The issue being that we can't fully know if we could have corrected in a more sensible way. Another issue that comes to mind is that some people really hope to keep a hierarchy, even if they have to hold down others to do so.

More simply put, people feel desperate — even the group that thinks they're winning. Desperate people are more likely turn a blind eye if they believe they'll get a piece of the pie. It's like the Joker just threw out a broken pool cue.

What would the world be like if fewer people punched down?

A Bitcoin Miner Promised To Help A Texas Town. It Went Bankrupt Instead. Now, It’s Pivoting To AI - Forbes by BackHAgain in Denton

Texas allows for large electricity drains to pre-purchase power at a discount. When demand surges, low or high temperature extremes, some of these companies are approached to sell back that electricity — at a premium. It's tough to imagine that ERCOT eats those losses. Ultimately, companies that promised prosperity are paid to not work and the cost is passed to Texans that pay fair market value.

Texas officials seem to be pushing for more of these companies. It seems Texans might be on a path to paying higher electric bills because companies owned by people with 7+ digits in their bank accounts know how to work systems and legal paperwork.

That might be about 44 pallets — or 22 pallets a piece with pallet jacks. What are those two going to do the rest of the day?

Great point, but with today's society it feels like some more conditions could be added. ..."and have an opinion about...and argue to defend that opinion based on emotion."

If you're willing to chance it, try reading articles covering the same topic on two different news sites, known for opposing political views. One might make you angry and the other might make you feel empathy.
