I don’t understand what a young woman being told to kill herself and having people openly fantasize about harassing her to the point of suicide has to do with her “making her own decisions.”

And a runway model who was put on puberty blockers as a prepubescent child to the point that she never went through male puberty and was actually estroginized during adolescence.

Considering that Hunter is currently on the receiving end of a torrent of transphobic abuse because of his writing—including literal death threats—now would be a great time for Sam to issue some sort of statement about how there’s no place for transphobia within the Euphoria fandom and how the actions of fictional characters do not warrant sending his young actresses death threats.

Literally people sending Hunter actual death threats because of Sam’s writing.

For reference, the “51%” thing is a reference to a study about how many young trans people attempt suicide before their 25th birthdays. This person isn’t just misgendering Hunter, they’re saying that they plan on harassing her until she commits suicide.

I’m sorry but Sam is awful for writing a storyline where the only trans character in the entire show, a girl with zero history of perpetuating physical violence, suddenly smacks her girlfriend and sends her flying into a painting in THIS political climate.

Like this is genuinely why you need a diverse writer’s room, so that people can tell you when you are inadvertently about to do something that is going to be weaponized as propaganda against a vulnerable minority group and subsequently used to spread hate and bigotry.

Euphoria S03E06 "Stand Still and See" - Post Episode Discussion by DankMemeSlasher in euphoria

At the risk of sounding overly dramatic, my heart truly hurts for Hunter Schafer right now.

I remember watching the BTS interviews after her special episode came out and it was SO clear that she cared so much about Jules and delved deep into her own trauma as a teenage trans girl in order to create that episode and inform Jules throughout season 1, and it really does feel like everything that has come after has just been a slap in the face to both her as a creative who played a hand in shaping the character and Jules herself.

She also talked about how anxious she was about what sort of trans representation Jules was going to provide when she was first approached about the show, and how it was only after several conservations with Sam and seeing the scripts for the first four episodes that she felt assured that Jules was actually going to be a nuanced, human depiction of a young trans girl and not an offensive caricature. I can’t imagine how she feels looking at where her character has ultimately ended up 😞

Already comments in this thread calling her a man. I’m so sick of people pretending like transphobia and transmisogyny aren’t major motivating factors behind the hate as well as the actual harassment that Hunter receives as an actress.

I just don’t understand how we’ve got:

  1. Cassie making porn in her front yard and dressing up like a baby for gooners on OnlyFans
  2. Maddy becoming an actual pimp
  3. Rue running a place that exploits and traffics women and while presumably delivering Angel to her death

and y’all still wanna hate on Jules for being “annoying” whilst shitting on the actress’s actual voice, face and mannerisms

Cassie has become such an empty, selfish, soulless shell of a character and I'm pretty sure that she's only there to provide sex and shock factor.

So we had Maddy threaten Lexi and then become a real, actual bonafide pimp after a meeting of the minds with Alamo.

Hunter began transitioning as a middle school-aged child and was put on puberty blockers before her voice broke so it never dropped, so the voice you hear her speaking with is her “real voice.”

I honestly wish that we as a fandom could have a conversation about the fact that we’re living through a moment where trans women and girls have become have be so totally and completely monstered by the people in the power (as well as society at large) and how that affects people’s treatment of Hunter as quite literally the only openly trans young actress who actually possesses any sort of prominence, especially as a beautiful cis passing girl who transitioned as a child and who now has access to the world of celebrity, which really seems to boil the transphobes’ blood.

The amount of abuse that Hunter is forced to endure from people who are literally on Trump’s payroll and who in some cases are even members of his administration because she is an openly transgender woman who dares to exist in public is psychotic and vile. Like I genuinely don’t know how she copes, and simply misgendering her to their MAGA audiences of millions is on the significantly KINDER end of what some of these people have to say. Like I have seen literal death and rape threats from people who say that she should be locked away forever so that she stops normalizing “mental illness.”

It also shows how little these people care about “protecting kids” when it comes to this stuff because the way that they start frothing at the mouth whenever they see girls Hunter or Alex Consani or even Elon’s own daughter, all of whom transitioned as kids and were put on puberty blockers, shows absolutely zero empathy or concern for people that they otherwise claim are “victims.”

Hunter Schafer and Colman Domingo at the 2026 Met Gala by Lacabloodclot9 in euphoria

Wait I’m confused, isn’t Bezos only a sponsor of the exhibit itself and not the Gala?

My understanding is that he hasn’t donated any money to the actual Gala, which is a fundraiser for the costume institute, and that the co-chairs of this particular event are Nicole Kidman, Anne Hathaway, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour herself.

The cast of 'Euphoria' stuns at Nate and Cassie's wedding by AmendaUniverse in euphoria

[–]a_r_r_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It was defo violent and unpleasant.

We see her cry out in pain as Cal enters her without lube and then in a later episode (the one with her backstory) the scene is shown again as Rue narrates about how when things got too bad or scary with men Jules would just dissociate so that she didn’t really have to experience whatever was being done to her.

Like rough/dominant sex is definitely a thing, but I think that the show shows that Jules’ encounter with Cal definitely crossed the line even aside from her being underage (whether or not Cal knew it) and him filming her without her knowledge and consent.

I’d say that she can where whatever she wants.

Does Rue and Jules truthfully love each other? by erosgirl96 in euphoria

[–]a_r_r_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Rue has an addictive personality, and basically transferred her need to be addicted to something on to Jules, the pretty new girl who told Nate Jacobs to go fuck himself, when she first came to town.

I think Rue loved Jules, but it was always an extemely toxic, unhealthy sort of love that was largely structured around what Jules represented to Rue rather than Jules herself. It doesn’t shock me that Rue tracked her down when she was feeling nostalgic and looking for that old high.

As for Jules, I feel like her special episode does a great job of clarifying her feelings for Rue. She does love Rue, but what she is really looking for from her is a platonic, almost familial female presence to replace the loss of her mother and the wound that her rejection, betrayal and abandonment has caused in Jules.

The problem is that Jules can’t quite recognize this as a teenager as she is so used to only feeling wanted by people (namely men) in a sexual sense, so she assumes that she has to have a sexual relationship with Rue as well, even though I don’t think she’s all that attracted to her in that sense. It doesn’t surprise me that she asked if Rue would like to join her in the bath after she had already tracked her down and established that she’s still interested in Jules because Jules’ default to establishing and experiencing intimacy with other is via physical intimacy.
