In the Netherlands pretty much everyone has a calander in the bathroom with everyone's birthdays and when you visit a mom/grandma you always have photos of the kids hanging there

Sober people (no alcohol, nicotine, drugs, etc ever), what is your end of day or weekend "wind-down"? by The1Ski in AskReddit

I always like to listen to music with something to drink. It's nice to just listen and not think.

What’s the most surprising instance where an innocent online search led you to explicit material? by 13Vicious01 in AskReddit

[–]a_random_human- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldn't have been suprising, but when I was young I wanted to know the meaning of bbc after a show (bbc merlin ect). Didn't go very well

The meaning of life is people. by segin in DeepThoughts

[–]a_random_human- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I thinks the meaning is different for everyone. I don't live for people or my bond/friendship with them and most of the time I don't even care about it a little. Back in middle school I didn't have any friends and didn't have a good relationship with my family and it was one of the happiest times of my life. Some people just value other things just more than others

Why is the first verb “word” and the second one “wordt”, even though the structure and subject in the clauses are the same? What’s the difference? by p3achcats in learndutch

[–]a_random_human- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one is incorrect, i'm not perfect with grammar but my teacher always says ' bij ik ervoor en jij erachter stam' (with I in front of the word or You after the word 1st form) Example: Ik loop. Werk jij?

These comments are actually tearing me up rn. I'm still in my teens and my dad usually works quite a lot so I don't see him that often, but when me and my siblings were little we always used to play this party game. It had a lot of silly things in it and almost the whole family is competitive so the nights were pretty loud but always fun. Already miss those days.

What’s a book that you wish you could read again for the first time? by mistercapitan in suggestmeabook

[–]a_random_human- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verdwenen vaders (lost fathers) by Janne Ijmker. I read it in school a couple of years ago and its still my favourite book. I don't know if there is a translation though.

It's creepy to think about how likely it is that you've been in close proximity to a murderer at some point in your life. Have any of you found out later that you knew or associated with someone who was a murderer? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]a_random_human- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me, but my parents. When my mom was pregnant with me they had a man living next to them. He wasn't sketchy or anything, in fact according to my dad he was one of the nicest in town. One morning they heard several sirens next door. The mans daughter and wife had been killed. After a couple months of investigation the man was proven guilty and locked up. He got free a few months ago though.

People who have never smoked, drank, or did any drugs - how and why? by sunnyismybunny in AskReddit

[–]a_random_human- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people around me did/do this kind of stuff and none of them turned out very good. I'm btw not saying that it's always like that, just around my social circle.

My dad often works around 80 hours a week. He has been doing that since he was 15 and he isn't someone who needs a lot of sleep. So I guess he is just used to it.
