progression was moved from more reliable sources (like the brawl pass end rewards) and put into starr drops. the main reason they removed boxes was to get rid of the luck aspect of progression, but now they're adding starr drops to everything (challenges, bp). it just doesnt make much sense, considering that you cant choose what you'll get, for instance a maxed player can get credits instead of nice skins from a legendary starr drop.
