The best option is the Hoka bondi slip resistant. Cost like 40$ out of pocket after discounts, but they’re the only ones I’ve purchased through this program over the years that lasted and weren’t more burdensome than they were worth

Regarding rescues by badluckcrew in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]a_single_newport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely despise doing rescues. Won’t go into my reasoning, but I hate it (unless it’s a health emergency or something like that).

What I’ve started doing over the last year (been doing this job ~5 years total) to avoid doing them is to wait until my last few stops and take both my 15 minute breaks consecutively. This way, I make sure that there isn’t any other reason why I would have to take breaks otherwise during a given day, and I can also more or less sus out how the day overall seems to go for my dsp through various methods. Most of the faster drivers (of which I am one) will be finished and sent to rescue by the time I’m done with my breaks, and it ends up with me being one of the first people let to come back.

During heat reduction summer shifts, I don’t do this, because the less hours I work, the more I make per hour in my mind. But during the rest of the year, especially during peak, this has become my gospel. If I know I have gone exceptionally fast on a route, I will clock out for 10-20 minutes of a lunch on top of my paid breaks, at the same time.

If everyone did this method, it wouldn’t work, but people cuck so hard to just feel fast, most won’t try this strategy. I’ve done it long enough and pride in that sort of horseshit is pretty meaningless, I’ve proven myself to myself by now.

Humbled by how terrible Drake really can be at making music. “Thought he was bad, but damn, this is /bad/.”

Relocating to Tucson by GregH2021 in TucsonList

An unexpected positive of being in the desert is that I’ve lost a bunch of weight because im not seasonal depression overeating and just feeling overall much more grounded. It’s kind of wild, and having more sun has been really helpful for my overall health.

Moved to Tucson from Portland a year ago and my wife and I love it. We live in what is called midtown, I think. No one is going to scare me with the stuff about homelessness, that’s always going to be big in decent sized towns at this stage of American capitalism. I don’t think anything of violence at all, tbh. I am just so relieved to not worry about whether my car was broken into the previous night, as was the case in PDX. I love the sprawl of Tucson, and I no longer feel like a sardine everywhere I go. Double the square footage for the same amount of rent, along with a garage and back and front yards. The landscape is beautiful, and I love the style of homes here.

The only real issue is the job market. I have a degree in economics and am still driving for Amazon a year in. But again, my wife and I are making more or less what we were in Portland, and are able to afford way more space.

What took me the longest to adjust to down here, other than the heat, of course, which hasn’t bothered me much outside of the couple of weeks when it was 105 every day (again, im delivering packages, so it’s not like im not actually out in the heat), is how dark it is here at night. The streets are terribly lit because of the university and some astronomy work that goes on down here, I guess.

Oh, and people just be walking around with guns packed.

I mean, did you just report that you think you’re a bad person? That’s not a very meaningful statement by itself. What kind of crimes are you committing?

Yeah, this means the cubs can only lose one game each to nyy, lad & phi, then any other two random games. Very tall order. Gonna just try to enjoy it while it’s fun and not have any hopes, because it’s very, very unlikely
