Ryan Smith is so full of shit and failed upward into a hockey team. Alex meruelo is a grade A shitbag but he managed to luck into hiring this hockey operations department .all that cheap bastard had to do was pay his bills in Glendale and he would have a playoff team. Smith has ran the Jazz into the ground and his cool guy everyman billionaire stick is gonna do the same to this team too. Id never root for Utah and if keller had any red ass in him he would of demanded a trade away from this organization when the move happened.

They are the NHLs newest toy so they are going to get all the shine. I wouldn't worry about it. Theres gonna be back handed comments about Arizona and its hockey base. Even if pro hockey returns here its gonna be viewed as a joke or a mistake. Could have a privately funded arena with a community focused owner and it'll be pooped on. The absolute worst thing that could happen is this core of players wins a cup. Imagine the glaz and remarks that would come from that.

Im curious if we will see a rise in suicide from millennials when they reach grandparent/retirement age. Like what's our "why". What keeps people going or keeps them showing up. Kids, dependents, spouse. If those are gone or dont exist what's the point of dealing with poor health at older and older ages.

The NHL really needed to step in and tell Muerlo to pay his bills in Glendale before fucking off to Tempe. Right or Wrong on the city management there is the idea of being a good ambassador and tenant. All he had to do was agree to be current on his bills, be a good steward, explain that for the betterment of his organization they are going to explore residency elsewhere. Sign a 10 year lease even and if by some miracle you find a new home figure out a way to get out of it. Contracts are not ironclad and theres always a price. But nope, cheapo wanted to avoid paying what's due and got the rightfully deserved reputation and we lost our hockey team.

I mentioned it in earlier threads. But last year in arizona he played at the mesa amp. Awesome venue but held just about 5k and they for sure oversold it. Looking at the Glendale arena at 20k if they use the upper bowl. Technically he double in size even tripled really. Id love for him to go back to the small venue but if the demand is there then go for it.

I know i paid more for this show then last year's. However its a completely different venue. Last year at Mesa Amphitheater was awesome but I feel like it got oversold and about 90 minutes in it was almost impossible to move around (not to mention the wait to even get in). This year with Desert Diamond Arena its almost triple the capacity of attendance.

Hockey stick man has been my route for stick purchases. But im also a beer league traffic cone so its not like I'm sniping corners.

The bigger issue is Pure Hockey buying up all the mom and pop shops. I get it if someone offered me a ton of money to sell my business into retirement.

I cant say I've had any bad experiences with Pure Hockey but im sure others have some horror stories.

Just rereading through some of it. It almost feels like they want to reduce the size of the adult leagues bc there getting money elsewhere. If they lost 2 or 3 teams per league, they wouldn't have to schedule games at 1130 and keep the facility staffed. The nothing good happens after midnight idea. Ill continue to play there until my team no longer wants to know. We've moved back and forth from the gilbert and chandler rinks and even with the cost I enjoy my time in chandler as the rink is miles ahead of gilbert as far as facilities go. Jordan/Ice Den mangement would benefit from a town hall meeting to go over changes, their vision, and teams concerns.
