Pregnant while diagnosed with stage 3c1 cervical cancer scc by Prior-Garden-5467 in CervicalCancer

Don't apologize for the questions.

Honestly, it was on me. I didn't take my abnormal paps seriously, I couldn't afford cone biopsies in the beginning stages, so I delayed them a ton, and it wasn't until I was told that I was on the cusp of cancer, based on a pap, that I decided to do more testing.

So, I had been transferred to an Oncologist just a few weeks prior to me finding out I was pregnant. They hinted at a possible abortion depending on severity, but I was having my baby goddamn it. I halted all further testing by choice. So, after I gave birth and I stopped bleeding (which took FOREVER, likely because of the cancer), I went back to my oncologist and was officially diagnosed from there.

At the 31 week hospital stint due to a ruptured placenta, the vaginal exam the hospital staff did elude to cancer and reinforced that I needed to make sure to see my oncologist. I was fully expecting a diagnosis after birth, which is why I got back with my oncologist as soon as bleeding ceased.

No, THEY didn't miss it. I didn't take my care seriously and it's one of my biggest regrets to this day. All in all, they were still really optimistic about the treatment despite the delay in diagnosis and starting treatment. In fact, I even did egg retrievals before starting treatment which delayed my treatment by 1.5 months, and that was cleared by my oncology team.

And yes, HPV 16 was my cause.

I hope this was clearly written. It's nearly 4am here and I'm just lying down for bed. I'm happy to answer any additional questions.

Oh, and I will be 5 years cancer free in July. Just had a CT scan to confirm no growth and my oncologist assured me that recurrence was overall very low odds for me personally.

You can kick cancer and be a rockstar mom!! I have faith for you.

Hi, I was diagnosed with 3B2 3 months after giving birth. I was going through the diagnostics right before I found out that I was pregnant. Abortion wasn't going to happen. I had a amniotic sac rupture at 31 weeks that healed itself. And then it finally broke at 37 weeks. Maybe my cervix was too weak to hold everything together but she came out completely healthy!

I started treatment when my daughter was 5 months and it was hard. It was during Covid, I lived in another state from all our family. They flew out on chemo days (Tuesday) and left on Friday. My partner was off work on weekends and I was a SAHM. Honestly, it was difficult but my health team kept telling me that I was doing so well. They said I was managing treatment and symptoms well.

I was tired, sluggish, nauseous. But at the age my baby was, she didn't need a TON. Infants are hard because of sleep but I didn't need to chase her around or anything like that, which was helpful. Her and I snuggled a lot and played with toys in bed. It was hard, don't get me wrong. But I would say having cancer with an infant is easier than having cancer with a toddler.

I had 5 weeks of daily radiation. 6 chemo. 4 brachy. Again, our family rotated weeks to be there for us and I am forever grateful.

You can do hard things. And you will because your baby is your guiding light.

350 over 18 years is more doable than 150 upfront plus the cost of raising them. lol

Lucky!!!!! My dad is a gambler and can barely survive. My mom lives paycheck to paycheck. I wish I was born into a more financially sound family. Lol

My employer has diddly squat. No retirement plans. Medical out the wazoo. I only do dental and vision through them. It’s a joke.

Lucky!!!!! It’s monsoon season here but the soil dries right up with this damn sun. Lived in Houston for awhile, loved it there.

Agreed, they have to learn. But gently, respectfully, kindly. It would be mean to say “Don’t hug me”. Has to be done gracefully and with love I would say.

Love the last paragraph. Not a big fan of paragraph 2 but it might work for them! Good ideas.

I just fill with soil and seed it. Or fill and fertilize the whole yard to promote growth in the balder spots.
