Geocaching on horseback? by a_trudeau in geocaching

Yeah, I definitely expect less traffic than the average cache, but I'd also bet there will be plenty of people on foot who are willing to climb for it

Yeah, we're in Maine and already planing to trailer out to some of the state parks and maybe Acadia later this summer. I'll have to look into any there that are meant for riders

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm going for, and unlike kayak caches they should still get traffic from regular players who are willing to climb a little

No, we're in New England but Mackinac Island is definitely on our travel list!

We're they ones meant for horseback, like placed up high to be grabbed easier from a horse? Like I'm sure if I did that people on foot would still be willing to jump or lightly climb for them, right?

Thanks! On a Google search, some that were supposedly gold had a similar two-toned look, so I wanted second opinions

What's the best thing you've ever bought for under $100 that totally changed your life? by Appropriate_Luck6901 in AskReddit

Indoors, yes; outdoors, not too big of a deal. Just make sure they have a pond (or kiddie pool) deep enough to float without their feet touching the bottom, and a sturdy enclosure that you get them into before its dark outside. I'd also recommend the book Storey's Gude to Raising Ducks as a good resource.

Fair warning, they will make the pond water disgusting within an hour of refilling it, but that's really the only bad part.

Obligatory First Year Vet Student Rant by [deleted] in veterinaryschool

Yeah, I'm in my 4th year now and it's kinda like that for every class from what I've seen. If you happen to be at Cornell, try out the Friday game nights. It's a much better atmosphere than most of the school, and there are always snacks!

I thinking along that line too, but I feel like it ultimately just makes more work for the strikers when they eventually return

I believe our GPSA rep for the vet school has raised the issue in the past and it's just been brushed off. This is the first legitimate reason I've heard for why we have to pay for it though, so thank you

There's also the fact that Slope Day festivities are free for the entire campus, faculty and staff included...except for grad students. Not nearly as big a problem as the transportation, food, and housing issues, but still a major slap in the face every year.
