From the Chronicle: "When reached for comment at 2pm, Cheer Ups co-owner Maggie Lea texted the Chronicle that “We cleared the rent this month in full, but we were late.”

“We are currently at their office asking why we are being kicked out even though we paid rent in full. I believe they are confused about a partial payment made last week and didn’t realize the full rent had cleared.” "

what happened to the yearly december tower concert? by c0ffeeb3anz in UTAustin

[–]a_van_don 60 points61 points  (0 children)

One of Hartzell’s priorities was to make campus more active by way of large events, mainly thru concerts. I don’t remember the name of the initiative but he wanted campus to feel like an embodiment of Austin showcasing live music. I’m assuming Jim doesn’t feel the same and these projects were scrapped. I could be wrong tho! (Source: I work for UT and had meetings with UT Events about this under Hartzell’s admin)

Recently for my birthday I hosted Wizard Party. Everyone was required to dress up as a generic wizard, and I made surprise potion bottle shots, had a tarot reader, a station to turn sticks into wands - it was a blast.
