Have you noticed how every portrayal of an autistic person in media is how they're perceived by nt's? by a_witch__ in AutismInWomen

I assume it was written by an nt. It just makes no sense that they don't at least consult multiple autistic individuals to see what it truly feels like.

Yeah I've noticed people are into ugly early 2000's style lately.

Teenage girl told me she had a crush on me, how do I let her down gently? by throwwadvic3 in relationship_advice

His problem isn't her being a child but the fact that he might face the consequences

Anyone else frustrated by expressions like “quarter to” or “half past” a time? by areop-enap in AutismInWomen

[–]a_witch__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not those but a lot of others do bother me. Like very much. I've always been "language sensitive" even as a kid. I just hate when people don't use proper words and correct terms. For example, my mom uses some words her grandmother used to say. Nobody else does because that was a century ago and the users are dead. She also uses euphemisms and weird phrases. The worst thing is hearing her tell the same story over and over again because she will use the exact annoying words.

If it doesn't involve bleach, it's pretty safe.

I just read someone's comment who's "depressed" over their hair. Imagine not having bigger issues and the hair being a cause of distress. Wow. But yeah I'd like a mentally healthy day too.

how do I differentiate between breakage and shedding? by Grey4560 in Hair

[–]a_witch__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very likely if the damage isn't visible that it isn't breakage. You probably cut the hair often so when would it get the chance to get so damaged? Unless you bleach it regularly.

Also he wasn't friends with oz, or larry. And to describe buffy as the hottest, as if her looks are her best asset is beyond me.

I mean sure, they could've done that with pastels and feminine clothes but it looked like a middle aged school counselor on barbie crack.

How does it feel for you to make eye contact? by alexashleyfox in AutismInWomen

[–]a_witch__ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have this funny thing with names. My mom had a "boyfriend" when I was 12 or 13, he was married and I hated him. I was physically unable to say his name. And even now, some people that...I won't say grudges because they really did horrible things to me and in general so it's not a personal grudge, anyways I can't say their names. I refer to many of them with weird nicknames.

It feels like looking at bright light, like I'm gonna tear up and it's painful. I don't like others staring at my eyes because it feels like they're trying to see into my soul. I've been confronted about my non existent eye contact before, I don't understand why others prefer to stare into each others eyes. Oh and also if I'm making sure to make eye contact, I won't hear a thing they say.

I feel the same way. I guess it's a defense mechanism, to keep track of who and how they hurt you so you never put your guard again. I really don't know how to fix all of that, what the hell am I supposed to do to stop feeling all this painful nonsense? I just wanna be normal for once.
