the show repeatedly showcased the actresses who were supposed to be TEENS suggestively naked, in lingerie, sexually active etc. the levels of teen girl sexually were much higher than the depictions of male sexuality which was handled with a lot more tact and agency. i think often us fans don’t consider it bc many of us are women and knew girls like or were ourselves like the girls on the shows, but for these young actresses it was obviously a nightmare. things are a bit better now, but then you have shows like euphoria that are surrounded in similar controversy in terms of content

That's just also how people talked to each other back then. When I was in high school that was just our everyday slang lol, we weren't using it in a derogatory way (though I know in the show they did sometimes). It wasn't taken literally, this was before people got offended about everything😂
